Gameplay through time

One thing i love about fleet ops is you can suggest and throw out ideas, good ideas, and even tho they may be crazy, and could be very hard to do, you have lots of imput from fleet ops staff and other people, so everyone, please, dont argue, just keep it clean, this after all is just one heck of a crazy idea im throwing out, that i think would be cool.

Simply it is this

sort of a timeling thing, you start out in more of the kirk(or archer idk which) era, and as the game goes along you progress to a higher level evetually getting to the time we are at now so basically in ship terms, its like going from the enterprise nx o1 and constitiution class era, to the enterprise e and descent era, for different races this might mean different things, the way the dominian ships were in kirks era and the borg is not known, however for the borg, can be slightly guessed, many different classes of ships and such, and as time progresses, you can upgrade stations and ships, and build new ones, and also decomission old ones, this would bring much more diveristy, and realism to fleet ops, now this could be a game mode along with the current one.

in addition it could also be on not neccesarily a time based, but development based, so like once you make advances in this feild or are you can build the next level up wich leads to bigger and better things. i could go on more, but i want people to talk about it, and ill think about it some more.

So remeber, be respectful, keep it clean, and most of all just share your thoghts.

A few months ago I was going to start a similar mod like that, starting in the ENT era and eventually you develop better tech and go through the ages up until post TNG. I was going to call it Star Trek: Evolutions. I eventually scrapped the idea however, though I am able to mod every aspect of A2, I am incapable of making 3D models and could not get a good 3D modeler to make SOD's for the project. I'd definitely love to see the idea done though, maybe not for fleet ops but a new mod for it after.

Yep these idea came up in the Beta2-Phase too, but we want Fleet Operations to take place in a fixed time frame. Tat fits to our background story and - to be hones - it would be to much work to do all the oldies for all the races  :pinch:

Older vessels (even from Kirks time) might be floating arround on scrapyards however. who knows what future versions may hold! ^-^

A scrapyard floating around? Reminds me of the time the Enterprise D visited Federation Surplus Depot Zed 15. Why that's a great idea. You could buy barebones starship hulls at a scrapyard at reduced costs and then choose your armaments the way you choose adaption modules for the Borg. Nothing like picking up an old Klingon battlecruiser dirt cheap and arming her with a heavy disruptor and torpedoes. That's better than buying a FORD.
