Future Galaxy Veteran Ability

Here's an idea that popped into my head the other day:

As we know, at some point in the future, the Veteran Galaxy-Class starship will become a Venture-Refit Galaxy-Class. I'm not that big of a fan of the Type-3 torpedoes for the Galaxy; it's not bad, but I feel something else could also be used.

So here's my idea. When the Galaxy becomes a Veteran, it gains a replacement special weapon to the Type-3 torps. It gains the ability to transform between a basic Galaxy and a Venture one. The basic Veteran Galaxy will still have the shield-breaking torpedoes, but when you change it to the Venture Galaxy, it's torpedoes no longer go through shields, but the phasers get a significant hike in dealing damage, at the cost of a reuduced rate of fire, kinda like the Avalon.

What d'you guys think?  ^-^

i prefer the current bonus of sheild breakers, they are awesome :D

I like 'em too, of course. Who doesn't like weapons that break straight through the shields of your enemy ships? I'm saying to keep them with the basic Galaxy, but you have the option to switch to the Venture for some extra phaser power. With the new passives, it could tear up some ships.

Galaxy will be a Venture refit at Veteran in future patches.

I would like an ability added to the Veteran Galaxy, maybe one involving its extra phaser strips (maybe Full-out Assault, expends all auxhiliary and stored power including photon launchers to fire all phaser strips simultaneously for massive damage lasting 20 seconds), but I would not like a replacement for type 3 torpedoes as they can be rather useful and I would miss them once they disappear.
I'm okay with getting rid of the direct hull damage while the special is on since the Galaxy tends to split firepower between taking out hull and shield, which only really works well against cloaking factions or ships with weak system value.

The Galaxy being a Venture at veteran wasn't in question, and was mentioned in the first post...

Why does the Galaxy's abilities even need changing? The model change doesn't require the ship get redone.

I'm not saying, "OMG THEY SUCK!! CHANGE EM!!!" I do like how they are now, I'd just like the abililty for a variabilty of firing types. I feel the Venture-Refit is a tad more phaser-oriented, even thought the standard Galaxy has 12 phaser banks, so it would kind of make sense to get a bit more of an edge with phasers

galaxy class was never totally torpedo based, it did always split the damage up into some helluva Phaserfire also some good shots with the torpedo. Im fine with the current special, but i dont have a Problem with changing it.
