Recently a official community teamspeak has been created. After checking out this server, and talking a few of the members, I have come up with a few ideas. I feel like the teamspeak server could be a great resource.
Firstly. I was thinking that we could post some links on some of the channels in the right hand bar. For example.
- A channel (probably either the fleetops games channel or lobby) could welcome people to fleetops, and have a few links on it. Perhaps to the forums, the guide, and the download are for new patches. This could also be a place to display links to new, for example: new patchs, recent news (like hot spot zooming), tunngle updates, and new teamspeak versions, as well as anything important for the community to know about.
- Their could be a maps channel, perhaps the current up and download channel. This channel could have a list of popular maps that are being played, and could provide a link to the area to download new maps, it could also serve as a place for map developers to converse, and upload their maps on the teamspeak server.
- The game and subsequent team 1 and 2 channels, could provide a little blurb saying this is a fleetops game channel, and if their are groups of people in different teams, it probably means they are playing, so know that if you are going to enter, they may not want to talk. Or something to that effect.
- The waiting for a game, yes its self explanatory, but you could..... clarify the purpose?
- The commentator channel. This could explain, that when locked, it probably means their is a commentary in progress, so don't disturb. Additionally when people clicked on it, it could explain what a commentary is, and provide links to the video database and or recent replays, as well as what it takes to do replays for those who are interested.
These are the basic ideas that I have currently, i believe0 their are a few others with whom I was conversing that would like to expand upon this, and everyone else is welcome to show their ideas.
Personally I believe that these could be a few nice touches, that could be made to teamspeak, to increase Its ease of use, and fully utilize its capabilities and potential.

I think Dragonfire volunteered already for the new Map Pool. And there are still some ideas lingering around about a synergy between a part in the guide, fo site, external, whatever, that provides this features together.
Anyways, you got some really nice ideas, that should benefit all of us and make the start for newcomers way easier in every matter. I would really love to see this, overall.
