Fed New Ship

I heard recently that you guys are looking for a new fed ship, well i modeled one.... It's a galaxy class overhaul, circa 2400-2410. Please take a look at it and tell me what you think. For those that don't have MS3D, i'll be adding pictures of the ship (and alternate file formats if i need to). You guys can use it how you like, make a vessel using this as a guide, use it for inspiration, whatever. It isn't textured and the nacelle struts nacelles need a bit of work, but thats about it. I did "dice it up" a little so that i could try and texture it, but i never really got around to it.

there looking for a ship for the smaller yard, and what i brought up was the fact that they mentioned, considering adding such small ship, i get the feeling they may have a ship in mind already, and if there were to be a galxy, it would most likly be mark two, because a refit is just that, a refit for an older ship

but in trek the galaxy is classed as a battleship, the Sovereign is a heavy cruiser.

Are you sure that the sov isnt a battleship? its official stats (from memory alpha) are as follows:
* 16 phaser arrays (20 for the enterprise)
* 1 forward quantum torpedo launcher
* 3 forward photon torpedo launchers (4 for the enterprise)
* 6 aft photon torpedo launchers (10 for the enterprise)
so i dont think that that's a heavy cruiser. about my design: it is a galaxy-esque ship that is the sov's little brother.

I view them more as Dreadnoughts.

The ship classes are measured by the ships volume, there have been many debates about this on the STO forums, and using memory alpha as a source the galaxy is a battleship and the sovvy is a Heavy Cruiser.
The Sovvy is about 1/3 the size of the galaxy in volume, and only .5 bigger than the akira.

The only known Fed Dreadnaught is the Excaliber and its not cannon. (but roughly twice the galaxies volume.)

But a dreadnought is smaller than a battleship. The dreadnoughts were the precursor to the modern battleship and are about the same size of a heavy cruiser or a battlecruiser.

I love SisQ's  galaxy refit but unfortunatly i dont think it will make it into FO

Yeah, it seems a lot of people don't realize that the Sovereign Class is actually not the biggest Fed ship out there. It's one of the newest, but these things don't displace nearly the volume of a Galaxy Class, and are actually closer to an Ambassador class in that respect. More powerful for sure, but not larger.
