I thought it would be helpful for DEVs if they knew what the fans don't like in FleetOps.
Constructive critics always help...
For me following negative points should be changed:
1. Borg diamond's Ultrithium Burst should be like in the original
2. Sovereigns should have Corbomit Reflector shield again
3. I want Species 8472 back instead of Noxter
4. AI Menu is much too unclear. Let them blink ( red to green alert, too ) or use more intensive colors.
5. For me standard gamespeed is too slow.
6. Theres no unit limit at all. credits are not enough for me. It's always ending in a huge judgement day.
7. Special weapons (offensive ones) should be much stronger and really worth to be developed
8. I'd like to see a replay tool instead of an ingame voice chat. (Everyone uses Teamspeak or Ventrilo these days)
9. A balancing that makes it possible to play in a league
10. There are people that need to zoom out a bit more including me. It's too close for my eyes. Even if I can't see these awesome models in detail ... but I need more space to act a whole fleet. I simply feel like a fish in a can.
11. CTRL + [number] for defining a group should be supplemented by SHIFT + [number] to add a single ship into a group
12. Depth of Map should be increased that fleets can fly X-Formation an Wall-Formation
13. Borg torpedos look a bit comic style...why not taking those from original A2 ( tactical cube ). They look really good and authentic.
14. Phasers are to fat in relation to ship size. They also look chopped off.

15. Disruptor bolt size is too small (Romulan Starbase, Rhienn Class, etc.) Disruptors look so good...then let in shine without using binoculars!
16. Bird of Prey shouldn't use yellow pulse phasers. Give them some green disruptors...that fits much better.
17. Micro torpedos..ok..but don't too micro when using those fat phasers.
18. More background music...it's always the same after a while and is making me turn it off completely...cos it's simply irritating. Do more music.
19. The "lowered shield"-effect looks not authentic. In "First Contact" you see a special effect when Picard shows Lili the window with look down to earth. He touches the field in the window and this effect would be really nice to see for lowered shields in FleetOps.
20. Why not using planets as real existing objects on zero plain? Suns (in V3) could cause hard damage on your ships when flying by to close.

4. i guess that could use some improvement

6. ST ARMADA-is that unclear? armada is a large massing of forces....no limit is excilent

yeh I made some these changes to unrealesed FO beta 2 for fun...
I added species 8472 & species 947 to noxter

There is no warp...so how do u need an engine disabeling weapon? In contrast to a temporary shield that reflects torpedos current weapon is simply odd. Don't forget that the special effect of Corbomit is a VERY good one.

About carbonite reflector, all I can say is that its TOOOOOOO strong. So its a no no for me

I think what he meant about the corbomite reflector was that it was a lie made up by kirk (i think) to scare of some enemy (also i think) and that it was never actually in star trek whereas dissabling a ships impulse engines (who said it had to be warp) seems like a reasonable thing to do and itsn't over powered (like the corbomite reflector is quite a bit)

maybe its possible to modify the corbomite reflecter so that instead of reflecting fire it absorbs part of the damage. that could also help recreate the sovies supposedly automodulating shields. get it to say reduce damage by 50% that would be better than reflecting it outright

I could go with that, if it was changed to absorb (which i believe is possible) and the sod for the corbomite reflector was also changed to a slightly larger sovie outline it could be a sort of skin shield that can only be activated for a short time due to power consumption or summat like that.

lol hypercube! If you say so then there mustn't be any sound in fleetops, cos for sound you need a medium that allows that (air).
It's simply SiFi... nothing has to be like in reality (for sure it fits better if it's like in reality)

Well we could argue about reality for ages. The thing is that corbomite relflector is even impossible in ST reality, thats the sucky part lol.
What bothers me is not reality though, its the strenght of this special weapon- its just too **** strong, you can damage and entire fleet and not sustain any damage yourself and that just sux

errr we get it already....
its too ****ing strong of a special, thats why i've already suggested a compromise of having it absorb part of the damage rather than reflecting it.

seriously now, i'm trying to be serious here:
I personally love A2, so i felt kind bad that fo team went to all the trouble to make it so much like A1 and then they add titanium. A big no no in my opinion, any how i ben wondering what do do with this titanium "Stuff". I removed it and now all you mine is dilithium. I'm hope-ing to release a mod That make the game more like A1. titanium Is pretty useless, So then i got idea, we could turn titanium in to special officers. So you Can set pre-amount of special/advanced ships. I added the titan class super ship, premonition and excalibur. Now each one of the ship requires 1 special officers. While all other ship have normal officers ( i call them captain lol because they require 1 officer) Most ship cost 1 captain, so you can 1000 station & ships, more then enough to get you off and feel your screen with exploding goodness. now with some modding skill i don't have we can make it were you can set the amount of titanium/special officers you start with. So you can preset it so you can only build 10, 20,50, 100 special Ship. So you can't keep Build same super ship over and over and over. Also you will want keep the alive more that way.
You can now Start yelling at me for talking about modding Fo Beta 2 ... Now!

I love FO...that's the reason why I'm here...I don't want you to mod this mod. even if your very enthusiastic and full of ideas...you would destroy more than creating. DOCa and his crew did such an incredible job..don't mod and dishonor their hard work.
