extending shields around other ships

thought it would be an interesting idea if some bigger ships could extend their shields around smaller ones (as a special or something) or maybe certain stations

protecting the smaller ship to recharge shields for a few seconds and retreat or have enough time to destroy the enemy ships. (at the cost of weakening the bigger ships shields)

was in the shows a few times so thought it might be interesting idea

I agree that having such a Star Trek standard would be a good thing. I would like to have this one one of the new defensive profile vessels to extend shields around one of its offensive brothers. I think the ability should only work when the ships are in close proximity. My 2 cents.

It could be interesting as a special for certain ships.

On a side note: these random suggestion topics are popping up all around the forum while we have a dedicated section in "Ideas and Suggestions". It's probably easiest for everyone if people try to place their topics in the intended sections.
