I like the idea of both offence xp and defense xp, yes it would be more complicated to code. Think this would be a later addition if at all.

Maybe once you reach the top rank of either before the player pays points (rank 5 i think), you could make a final upgrade to EITHER defensive or offensive. So you couldn't have both top level bonus' or just them use the same upgrade points. so if you made a super defient it would take 8 points for the attack side and 8 for the defend side, then you would have 1 ship costing 16 points, Out if 25 its a big gamble if it gets destroyed.

How would you feel about an experience system which gradually negates the downsides of a ship its abilities.

E.g. ADAI now has a weakness against support, but it could lose that when gaining experience.
HDSG is weak against short range. Add exp and bye bye short range weakness.

This would make any experienced vessel a force to reckon with, but to avoid throwing balance out of the window it should be a lot harder to gain exp for any vessel.

I feel my suggestion in reply 31 has been overlooked. How would you feel about gradually decreasing the negative side-effects from abilities when experience is gained.

You don't need to double post just because you've felt the previous response didn't get any attention. I'm sure it will get looked at in due time :) .
