Is it possible to have ships gain experience in combat, so that as ships fight more, they get better at fighting?

Also, you could combine this with the escape pods idea in another thread, so that there is a chance that some of the crew (of a ship that has gained experience) can escape. Then, when a ship collects the escape pod, they gain the experience from the crew in the escape pod.

its a neet idea justt coshon you about geting to complicated. i like the ferst ports about ships geting beter but i dont know if it can be implameted.

Yeah, it would be nice, but it would take a while to do. :o I KNOW!!! I'm gonna make an RPG for Star Trek! ^_^ Now I gotta learn how to program a computer...

I do like the Idea of escape pods or shuttels that would be cool a ship with escapepods and the abilty to build shuttels but an escape pod has crew and crew reaches a max

shuttle pods are just an eye candy thing and it only uses more memory and hardware. besides you can't even see an escape pod unless you look at your ships very very close (while your fleet si destroyed) so what is the point of it?

but the experiance cap for ships would be fun. but i don't think it would be possible to implement that inless you have some borg codes for the games to override everything

Ships that go up in levels is an idea for that? After so many kills it goes up a level. Adds weapon or sheild strenght sort of perks for each race. Feds get better defense and the like?? If only it could be done. Klingons get better weapons and Roms get Something kool and Borg just get crew faster or something. Just examples.
