I have been talking with Overlord, and he came up with a great idea for the AI.

I was telling him that I was going to make a game, me being borg of course ;) , and with the other "main" races we know ( not noxtor) , with their allegances as they are in the show. Feds and Klingongs allied, Romulans doing their own thing in their own world, and me assimilate them all... :lol: :blink:


But Overlord suggested, that if the AI were allied, they would have the ability to form fleets together and form a cooperative alliance in being to strategically attack and form battle plans or something like that. It is similiar to what I do already when I play, I have graph paper next to my keyboard, where I draw out the map and find weakspots in the enemy defenses, and split up my fleets. :D That would be a MAJOR enhancement I know, but it doesnt have to be as quite as "into" the game as I am. Just going by Overlord's suggestion, would that be possible with the AI for Beta's 3, 4, or even the final version of Flops? :blink: Along with possibly entering the system that Conquest Frontier Wars uses for player fleets and admirals?

doubt it-a2 wasn't built for half the stuff optec and doca are squeezing out of it now-and it does have limits.

yeah thats true enoughthe fleet ops team have broke many limits that was said to have been "impossible" to break!

well we are thinking about a new ai for beta4. we have enhanced the "standard" ai for beta3 to handle fleets. perhaps we will be able to handle a new and special ai type for beta3.. let's see to it :)

I agree totally. Even though I've only been with you guys for, about a month now (wow, went by fast), I have seen so many breakthroughs in this game that I can't even begin to imagine were even possible. :omg: Even after the Fleet Ops mod is totaly finished, I hope you guys will continue your work into more of Armada 2 ( or an Armada 3 if there is one), or other Star Trek Games that need "miracle modders". :cry: :shifty:

if you do this to the ai and maybe even more advancments i am going to have to start giving donations!!!!!! to the site for all the hard work these "mircale modders" have done.

But at the moment i'm busy witht these nasty dominion textures.. back to modding for me!

Maybey a BC port of FO, it would be quite simple jus gotta convert the models, write the py files and eyecandy.
