Hmmm... I like this. It would be very helful in terms of gameplay. Maybe like a kind of bar similar to the rankups on enemy vessels on the bottom right instead of top left. We could have it color coded too. Blue bar = cruiser, red = battleship...ect

Colours for sizes, shapes for roles? red circle = large cruiser and blue star is a small battleship etc?

Interesting thought, but it could get confusing - so I'm not sure  :sweatdrop:

Lets see, we have 4 size classifications (small, medium, large, station), and 5 (or is it more?) classes (scout, destroyer, cruiser, battleship, support). That's a lot of different colors and shapes - I'd prefer them to be directly on the GUI if they were there - not floating, as that could get quite jumbled up I think  :sweatdrop:

Yeah I agree Dominus, and I might argue the same thing for ship ranks, sometmes it just gets in the way. Have a place in the GUI for both?

Well, the good thing with the ship ranks is that it does appear in the GUI too (when you have any number of ships selected, you can see what rank it is in your selection box). I agree that sometimes it gets annoying that you can't get the ranks to disappear with a magic toggle button (especially when you've got a lot of ranked up ships on the field) - most of the time though I like that info since it allows me to quickly figure out what vessels are on the field are in need of being made into veteran, or which ones I'd like to try and save etc  ^-^

Maybe something like that could be made for the ship classification - I don't know :)

To me I'd think it'd be obvious where the ship's position lies.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean Gamer  :sweatdrop:

What I mean is, anyone who knows canon should have a pretty good idea where all the ships would be.

Well, considering that a large portion of FO vessels do not exist in official Star Trek canon, I can't see why that would be the case  :sweatdrop:

And even the Canon Vessels which are included in the MOD don't always necessarily conform to what people might expect it's role to be according to canon.

Lol do you recall the Stock A1 Defiant?

Bitch-ass destroyer with terrible weapons.  Oof.  It broke my heart every time I built one.

Indeed!  I'm glad FO put it back where it should be. ^-^
