I noticed that FleetOps/A2 supports multiple (maybe just two) monitors.
If you have two monitors active on your desktop, then you can enable that second display in the graphics settings, but currently it is just a black screen that you can move the mouse onto.

I am really hoping that can be turned into something cool, like Sup Com where you can have a whole extra map on another screen. Maybe some of the UI elements can be put there.

This is partly asking the community if there is any strong opinion on the matter, if any of you have 2 monitors, and partly asking the Dev team if anything useful/interactive can be put there. Also, I don't want it to give any kind of advantage gamewise, because it would be stupid to give advantages to people with more powerful machines and two monitors.

the second monitor shows (or atleast should) show a fullscreen "cinematic view" (the one we have removed already from the new interface). it is quite pointless actually if you ask me. obviously it also has some annoying bugs (your back screen). though i have a multi monitor configuration myself, this feature may be dropped in the future entirely or atleast disabled until something useful - or atleast bug free - can be made out of it.

It would be cool if you could have all your ship production cues open in one screen. Or you could just go the Sup com approach

the question is if it is justified to work on such a feature that a minority of users get something out of. if the source code would be available, improvements could be done within a few days on the second monitor view. without it, it would cost me weeks or month and i don't know if it will even work afterwards.

So the second monitor doesn't work as a continuation, or panorama effect?

i've tried this once (super-widescreen over two monitors). you have to enable "span mode" in the graphics driver, fleetops can handle the resolution without problems. the ui elements get stretched, but otherwise it works fine. the only drawback is that you have to use xp. the vista/win7 display manager doesn't support that "useless" feature anymore..

Maybe we could have the cinematic view back for dual screen? On that kind of scale, it might actually be more useful at giving information.

the cinematic on the secondary screen works for me. that your screen stays black seems to be a bug, maybe a graphics driver issue. anyways, the cinematic is kinda boring, not worth the effort imho.
