I have seen in several episodes of star trek where ships run in to old weapons o alien life that attack the ship.

I would like to see a new type of NPC map objects that attract every one and can not be owned by any one.

Best

Do you mean like the crystaline entity?

Or species 9341 from armada I? The crystaline entity may be a little too strong. Gomtuu could be interesting, though, not destroying anything, only having a special the pushes ships away from it. We also saw smaller life forms that disabled subsystems of the ship - I could imagine exactly this or life forms with the effect of the graviton mines.
All in all I'd prefer only smaller but annoying life forms. The larger ones were all quite strong (species 8472, Calamarain...).

I proposed this some time ago:
Aceton assimilator - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Edit: To add ideas:
Series 5 long-range tactical armor unit - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Orbital weapon platform - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Echo Papa 607 - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Dreadnought (episode) - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

Cardassian ATR-4107 - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki

The Mon Calamarian from TNG would be cool to bring back, as would other such races.

We could also bring back Apollo from TOS, have his NPC 'hand' ship only mess with female avatars :p .

I don't think the Crystalline Entity would be too strong, it still has to get through the shields to attack and can be killed somewhat easily. A military ship could kill one, only civilians would be in danger.

Would be difficult; he's dead.

And this is Star Trek, Death only lasts until you're cloned, your mind is transfered back into a new body, etc etc.

Besides he was a freaking mini Q (actually the case could be almost made that Apollo and Trelane, the Squire of Gothos, both from TOS, were in fact both members of the Q, which would make Kirk beat Jean Frenchie Picard once again, as HE runs off the Q he encouters)

Apollo needed that Temple Enterprise destroyed, without it most of his power is lost. That super-hand included.
