Would it be possible to do a Dota style match in FO?

Lol you'd have to talk to Megadroid about scripting things like that

When in doubt: Google, Dear Primi.
It's the most popular custom map for Warcraft III ever made. It has basically been the reason people give a shit about War3 anymore. It's a map style that has two teams with bases pitted against each other separated by "lanes". In those lanes are usually obstacles and "creeps" from both sides that fight each other automatically. The player controlled units are usually "heroes" that can kill the creeps and get stronger with the ultimate goal being the destruction of something in the opponent's base.

duuuuuude.
I knew it was only a matter of time until they made DotA in SCII, but still...that's sweet!
Did they use all the old heroes and items or design new ones? I used to play DotA heavily with my friends but then the great split came and half of us played HON while the other half went to LOL. There are 7 branches that I know of, now 6:
League of Legends: creators of DotA, new heroes, cartoony
Heroes of Newerth: DotA heroes, same rules, amazing graphics
Avalon Heroes: new heroes, based in Asia
Demigod: crappy playstation game
DotA II: Valve lost the lawsuit, dunno what they're going to call it when it comes out
Land of Chaos Online: new heroes, new rules, 3rd person style
And now Sotis, Starcraft II map.

Incoming nitpick: Just one of the guys who previously headed development of DotA, not the original creator.

It's still going to be DOTA 2. They don't own the Defense of the Ancients title, but they do own DOTA as a name. Project headed by current developer of DotA 1.
