as the title suggests, would the Dauntless as a mix tech ship for the feds be a good idea?

i think it has a nice distinctive shape and isn't bad looking or ilogical in design so i would like to see it in game.

But for which race?

Isn't this ship just a fake Federation vessel from an assimilated / extinct delta quadrant alien race?

Yes, it is true, the federation never created a dauntless class ship.  An alien, one of the few survivors of a borg planetary assimilation disguised his ship to seem federation-ish and fool the Voyager crew into thinking it was sent from home with a new propulsion tech.

However, a few of the hull designs in STO seem to be loosely designed around it.  And a version of the slipstream drive it had is available on all 25th century federation ships.

Id personally prefer to see it as a map object rather than mixed tech, but it'd be cool to see.  You could give it a slipstream drive which would allow it to move in a straight line at A2 style warp speeds and have a stealth effect to simulate going into a slipstream as seen in the show perhaps?  or if the devs have another Idea Id be cool with that too.  I was trying to come up with a more original idea than the Insta move (transwarp drive copy) Ive seen in other mods.

Yeah, but Voyager downloaded the ships specs which was made to Fed specs.  If they didn't realize it was alien until they physically examined it in extreme detail, then it would be logical to say that the design could have been pretty accurately reproduced by Starfleet.  Voyager itself almost made slipstream work, so it is even more logical to say that a full team of fed scientists could have done it.

I think it would go great in borg mixed tech or maybe more fitting as experimental warpin.

Though this would be an interesting effect, you must remember that a map is the equivalent of a solar system and all the ships are moving at impulse.  If it truly had slipstream drive, it would be instantaneous travel within the system.

I could see this as a map npc colaberation, (like one of those ships you'll build or hire from a NPC facility)

In the Memory-Alpha article, it states that at the end of the specific episode, the ship was assimilated by the Borg. So, why not have it as the Borg/Fed mixed-tech ship?

just to add to this,as i love the story arc provided in the books about the slipstream tech and they get it workin by havin borg sensors of some type that see 3 secs into the future at slipstream, think its a nice looking ship,
and enjoy the effect in sto, would love to see it in some form in the game, but then i feel i would like to see all relevant ship/races in this game but that is so much to add
