customizable fleets and by that I mean in game so like if you want you can increase the sensor range of one ship not the whole fleet
oh I propose to do this would from what I have heard would be easy because the fleet ops team already has a way to transform ships into other ships rather than changing it into a new ship you just change it into it self but with a bigger sensor range that would be very cool
I was also thinking we could have like built on that same idea you can like say max out shields at the cost of speed and sensor range so like a customizable fleet that would be very cool

It definitely would be incredible... but it seems way to complex for this game engine so far (I think) and probably will only be implemented in a much later version.
However, I do think that it would be much easier to make this implementable for a "hero ship": giving it a decided advantage over its brethren (and really customizable to boot)
I think the main problem with customizable fleets in relation to rts games in general is that it becomes too complex for anyone other than a dedicated player to enjoy. Micromanagement is great, but there is a very fine line between that and spending hours to learn a new strategy (can you imagine how difficult it would be to balance this type of thing anyway?). That's why I would relegate this strictly to special ships, rather than sotl (ships of the line). This would also render different ship classes relatively worthless, as you can imagine a bunch galaxys upgraded with shields and weaponry (at the cost of speed and sensor range) absolutely destroying any other ship unupgraded. Fleets would become a lot smaller in general... but to attack with strategy would be impossible (too many combinations to counter).
Sorry for that rambling bit... I like the idea though
