I have seen in some games when unites need to cross a complicated terrain they some times have a option whare you can crate a path.

A.>-------B.
.............V
.............i
.............i
.............V
D.<----<C.

I think this could be useful in this game.

Do you mean like when you hold the shift button in other games? You can do that at the moment by holding tab.

Yup, creating waypoints is already possible in Fleet Operations (and Armada II by extension of course)

Is this about the Patrol option in the ships Command panel? If it is, I think the only thing that can be customized is the P key used to select it.

No, this is waypoints :)

As in setting a specific path for the ship to follow by clicking on the map while holding tab.

That's the patrol, I used to use it all the time in stock. Are you using a different method? Because P+Tab then clicking each individual point is what I always used to set a path for ships to follow.

Ah, yes, I have been using a different method in FO, obviously with similar results :)

I refer to patrol as the standard "select end point, select beginning".
With the tab and click that issues a non repeating waypoint. I guess the P+tab issues a repeating waypoint (patrol). I will add that in the guide since I have just learned it

What about adding this to the menu bar at the bottom.

I was thinking of may be some thing more constant.

If one makes a path it stay until the payer removes it.

If you have a shop you are sending ships at the other end of the map you don't wont to keep making new path for every ship you sent but if you could tell ships to flow the one you have.

Ah, you mean something like a customizable rally point? (aka, waypoints and rallypoint become combined)

I think that would be an excellent idea, I just didn't think it was possible

Yes I don't have my Gaming jargon up to snuff. lol

Well looking at what thing the FO teem have done that seemed impassable that are now posable any thing could be posable. How knows maybe next they will make a invention that puts the invention of the wheel to shame.

it could work kinda like in C&C, where you set waypoints with a beginning and endpoint and they are visible all the time, if you send a ship at the beginning point, it travels all the way along the route until it reaches the end point. what do you think about this?

That would be perfect.
