i think that was to prevent trading freighters with borg players

What would be the problem with that?

Just a guess, but I think the problem is that other freighters would require a Mining Station of some kind, and the Borg don't build those. You'd have no way to offload the material.

Is the node technically no mining-station. Never tried to unload a miner at a node nor a clooector on a miningstation.

The Node works exactly like a mining station. Any freighter can dock with it. Hence, by trading Borg freighters you can prevent harassment and get cheaper stations and faster movement (plus more efficient harvesting if you use Borg and non Borg freighters in combination)... I agree, on second thought that could prove unbalancing  :sweatdrop:

If you are worried about  people trading vesssels with the Borg just put a max trading cap of two mining vessels on each player per game. Besides do not the Borg get what they need the old fasioned way. They Assimulate it!

Why not just exclude the Borg from Trading at all, like stock did?

That doesn't make sense since not trading con ships or freighters dates back to A1.

I think this would destroy a lot of interesting tactics as well as weaken the Borg incredibly in team games without a "transmute" ability.

Two mining vessels can still place an unlimited amount of mining nodes ;)

Though the Borg can't actually trade, it isn't in their nature.

And we all know how that ended...by the Borg's actions.

Ah, but then by that logic, the Dominion doesn't really trade either :P

I think every one is getting  off topic what I specfically  asked for was a replacement constructor as a warp in replacement . The reason for  the request for the  developers looking in to it was to rebuild Starbases and mining stations. It was not for trade with any other player but  just for  my races use to rebuild.

So why only the Federation then?
