This is a concept i've been considering for some time, but don't think i've ever posted. This isn't really a "Put it in" request, but more of a "Is it possible?" query. If it was considered, i would expect it to be for V4 or V5.

With the new SP coding coming out, would it be possible to impliment multiplayer missions with actual objectives? Essentially it would be similar to an Assault map, with each player given pre-determined forces, but there would also be actual objectives for each player (with an objective menu like on SP games). Each player has his own objectives, usually opposing their opponent's.

One example would be an escort mission: player 1's mission is to get the convoy through, while player 2's is to destroy it. This example would include limited map units, but there could be other missions involving full or limited production ability.

So yeah, could it be possible in theory? Thoughts/Opinions welcome.

i had an idea like this at some point, not so much a sp like mission but if you was to split the whole universe into quadrants players could try and battle for certain sectors and could get benafits for owning a sector (eg have a pre built defense etc)

That would be a pain to script, and it may even require a reworking of the engine. It sounds fun, but I doubt it will happen.

If The Actual *idea* cant be implemented in a concrete form, Then cant players simply... "decide" to Roleplay out missions within a skirmish?

I've tried to do that kind of thing before... It didn't work out that well.

my idea would involve manual work more than relying on the fo eingin.
