Would it be possible to have different cocoons for each race or even each evolver that way we can have cocoons that match the ship there coming from (or invisable in the case of the borg dodecahedron)

I'm a little puzzled as to what's being proposed here. Can you clarify?

do u remember the evolving cocoon animation from vanilla, he is asking if we can have race/evolving ship specific animations for that.

if the dodeca uses that evolution, then isnt it already possible?

It would be very handy if there were multiple cacoon types so I'm in support of this proposition. Maybe in combination with 'Shipbuiltbyevolution' there's a command like 'cacoontype = "name.sod" '

Oooo.... I might then finally be able to one day have the dream of a great map object.... the All Spark. Uncapturable, but tow-able map object (like the Omega Particle). And I could have it that once you have it, you can then use a specialized ship which would then surge it with a special kind of energy wave that would make it initiate evolution into its compressed form. Once compressed then you can beam it aboard any station and study it to greatly boost technology.

I know this is far fetched... but having the ability to use multiple cocoons would be a start.
