When you have a fleet of cloaked units, and right click an enemy vessel/structure, all vessels decloak and open fire. I never found that to be useful, too often when I try move my fleet near enemies, I accidentally have decloaked my fleet. I think that it would be better if vessels never decloak, unless specifically ordered to by clicking the cloak button.

Sounds complicated... but useful.

I too find that "feature" quite irritating :)

Though I never see my fleet auto-decloak unless if ordered to attack because I disable the Special Autonomy. :P

maybe have a compromise, if your fleet is cloaked and you want to issue a quick attack order without first having to push decloak, have it so that u have to hold the click, or double click an attack order. to avoid accidental decloaking.

OR,  we can just NOT RIGHT CLICK an enemy unless we want to kill it.

that is like getting mad at your computer for starting FleetOps whenever you click on the icon to do so.

am i missing something here?

i dont like the idea. mistakes in game make one player win and the other lose, including micro mistakes. 'fixing' the game like this is not the way to go imo

However, if you decloak then your ships fire right away, if you click attack while cloaked, they take a few seconds to start firing. That's a bug for me I think  :whistling:

Well, right click is also move, so if I like to move next to an enemy, it can be difficult sometimes.

i just want to note that the annoying delay that sometimes occurred which caused the cursor to stay in attack mode, even if the mouse was moved away from an enemy, has been successfully removed with 3.1.0.
so an accidental attack order shouldn't occur that often anymore. that was some kind of 'feature' of armada 2 i did not entirely understand, maybe it helped to target very small objects.

i think it was because a lot of things moved too fast for slow people sometimes. armada 2 had to appeal to old star trek fans with slow hands lol. also if you zoomed out far it got harder. i think it was a clever idea, but turned out to be worse in reality than they thought it would be.
