as we already know, that the ciadians have no need for tritanium, but for sentinent beings as cpu's, i thought about what to do with the trit moons. i thought about it very long and came up with the following hopefully not overly crappy idea^^:

the ciadians have a Evolution ship.
it is pretty expensive and unarmed.
with this ship you can breed sentinent beings on trit moons. the evo. ships terraforms the trit moon, and lands on it(it is destroyed then).
if you want to terraform a moon you have 2 options.

first:let level1 sentinent lifeforms colonize it. that doesn't cost really much dil and spplies, but cpu, because you have to "sacrifice" some of your cpus to let them life there.

the other is to start evolution. this costs much dilthium, but no cpu.
if you choose to evolute(?), a timer counts down(like a special ability). if it is on zero, you can use the ability:upgrade genetic pool. if you choose it, you get the same "building", as if you colonized it.

in a colonized moon, it works the following:
a counter counts down, and when it reaches zero, you get cpu every few seconds. you have the ability "emergency harvesting" where you get cpu instantly, but push the timer hgher(kinda like the phalanx shooting), so you have to wait again until you get a constant stream.
if you do it too often and the timer gets to high the moon colony is exterminated and youll have to build a new one on this moon.

now about the levels.
the level of your lifeform describes how fast you get cpu when the timer is zero and how many cpu  you get from the emergency harvesting.(the higher the level the higher the cpu income)
but a higher level doesn't only have pros, it also makes terraforming a moon more costly.(all moons you already have get upgraded automatically)

you can raise the level in two different ways.
Way 1:you sucessfully upgrade the genetic pool after starting evoluiton on a moon.(you can do this more than once)

way 2: you get a mixed tech yard and research the alien species. this highers your level by one, too, except the borg, which higher the level by 2, because they're so hard to capture and because the drones come from many different races.

surely there should be a limit of the level, maybe you could tech until level 7, because else they would be too strong on long battles.

what do you think about this idea?

The Ciadan wont harvest "people" in FO, as a database complex is usually built in subspace or in a far corner of the galaxy, where they clone, breed or "salvage" their CPUs, but its no common military strategy. They don't attack worlds cause they need new brains, as they don't have a steady need form them. However, they have been seen to connect prisoners to the database, in the attempt to gain information from them via virtual simulations, or direct "brain-hacking" (which is not that successful, due to the large variance of neuro-structures). Similar to Romulan neuro-probes.

Basically, Ciadan arent brutal. They dont "kill off" whole populations, like the Borg would do. They just don't think of all consequences their actions may have, especially if its not them who have to carry out those consequences  :whistling: but well, there are also some Ciadan serving as CPUs in the Database...

We changed our design plan for the future a bit, so the Ciadan will probably have their first appearance as a NP Race, just to get them a bit early to you  ^-^ so more info on them will follow

What about the Iconians and Noxter, will they be NP race first too?

nope, the Noxter will jump in as a playable race :)

Iconians have been delayed for a bit, so we will think about that once the time has come

Awww and I was looking forward to the Iconians the most :(

oohh, so no harvesting of innocent beings^^
then just disregard my idea^^
