Heres a weapon idea.

This idea has to due with taken over Pacific systems of a advisory.

The usage I was thing of was to have a weapon that would for a ship to go at full impulse in one direction for a set time like 2 seconds.

- This would be good for braking up enemy fleets on the verge of a attack on them.

- another may be tearing of life support for a time on a group.

I do not completely understand what the weapon does. Does it cause your ship to speed away in one direction or your enemies.

Your enemy

Its make to brake up large enemy fleets. That would be one application of it.

hmm well i dont think that 2 seconds would be enough too effectively break up their fleet but maybe if it was longer... also maybe after the special their engines could be knocked out,

sounds good and I am worried about nocking of there engines completely it may unbalance the game.

For example one would fly to a enemy base and just get rid of all enemy ships so putting a time limit on it would allow th enemy to have some kind of defense.

um some kind of computer override that locks the engines on and forces the ships crew to shut down the engines for a short time while the reset the system.

Borg Nanites.  The Borg nearly did that to NX-01 Enterprise with 2 drones and no Vinculum.  I'm sure a cube could do it competently.

I don't know of what you are speaking of.

I have never see sudden events happen like this be for in a1 a2 fo or any other mod I have played.

i think the klings use to have a weapon in stock armada 2 that disable engines and repulsed all ships in the area away from where the weapon was targeted

yea, that was the jach'eng class with it's shockwave - the "super unit" of the klingons

I know you guys have your reservations about super units but what if you made them like the super weapons in CNC. where the their is a countdown is shown and you have so long to destroy it before the weapon is triggered. anyway just a thought feel free to shoot it down.

The idea I purposed is different that the weapon that emits a large blast that push ships away. This one has the own ships systems used against them. It seems more realistic to me and effects a larger area.

For the player effected a icon could show on effected ships letting the player know there ships are effected by the borg or Iconins how ever you give it to.

No, not this, the Repusion Wave was a special weapon of the Fek'lhr (kspecial.odf), that moved one enemy ship (targetted) away from it and disabled it weapons for a few seconds). A bit of editting and it can target multiple ships though...
