i propose that other races can pop a topmey into a kt. Now they cant. I tried assiming a topmey and its mining station and i couldnt lol. For klinks the close to station policy should remain, for captured topmeys it shouldnt. As a borg topmey is kinda useless, but a borg ktinga is a cloaked scout :D

Why should they be allowed to? It requires Klingon warriors and supplies afterall :)

On the other side, why shouldn't it? The K't'inga doesn't care who's in command, only that they know how to activate it.

I think that they should be able to and foreign races should be able to do it whenever they feel like it.

Who says it doesn't require Klingon Ingenuity :P. If it was as simple as popping a button, than why can't the K't'ingas be popped everywhere ;)

Because that would be dishonorable  :P

Heh, never said it was that easy, only that it's only a case of knowing how to do it.

My ideal version would be a random chance of getting the ability, since some would have an easier chance of getting the (likely now damaged) outdated tech to work. The resident tech gods, Starfleet, would probably have the easiest job.

I thought that you could still pop it, provided the mining station is still the klingon's and the topmey has been taken over by you and is close to the mining station?

well the proximity to mining station thing was more of a balance thing wasnt it? personally i think that other races can remove a few mining buckets. but they shouldnt get the temporary bonus that the klingon popping gives.

I feel a captured Ptolomy could  be turned in to a K't'inga.  However  no  bonus and a 2 % point reduction on all  ship values. Just my .02 cnts.

Topmey, the Ptolemy is a Federation ship.

typos aside, i agree with your point, it should definitely not be as useful as a normal ktinga, as the bonus at the start sounds like a honour thing.

The Dominion could still get it; the Jem'Hadar seem to have some concept of honor, even if their superiors don't understand such things.

i dont think it would apply here, the klingon boost comes from:
"hey we're about to die, lets make our deaths as bloody as possible and go out with a bang"

while the dominion start every battle dead and are trying to fight their way back to life.

either way it wouldnt be a huge difference. if i captured a ktinga as non klingons i would really wanna use it as a scout for some expansion.
