Capped Refittin

One day I had a vivid dream of playing Flt Ops. There were hundreds of class vessels, many I never even seen or heard of. Anyway, one major thing I remember was that there was this ship that used a replace weapon to refit the ship. But the refit button showed a fleet cap. And the Refit option then disappeared when the cap of refited ships was reached.

I was wondering if this could be implemented into the regular dynamics. Like ships that have powerful refits that have a cap limit on it.

I thought caps were only used for special things, like SFC or Mixed-Tech ships... refits don't strike me as being all that 'special'.

Yup: I mean, if you want to think about it, there are already "refits" with caps. The Tavara for instance.

yep, i dont see many of the current Romulan refits in need for caping  ^-^ every ship already has its "limited refit", the veteran status, if you want to see it from that perspective

I was thinking about how there can be these powerful refits that add amazing strength to the fleet. But it is capped for the sake of balance. After all, I don't see why not. :D

  I can think of a million reasons not to.  Refits are not a problem in themselves.  If you want to take issue with the notion that too many of a certain refit are overpowered (multi-Beam from Rhienns) then that's different, but the idea of Refitting in itself is not something that represents a cappable problem.

 

  I think I get what you're saying now.  You want to ADD more refits that are powerful and you're offering up the notion of capping them to sweeten the proposal.

why not, mabye only on a few things, stop the almost insufferable generix spam and shield recharge.

Actually, support refits could have a cap of 20 or something.

Either way shield recharge is being removed  :sweatdrop:
