Burst Fire Torpedo Idea

The other day I watched TNG and it was were they met the Borg after wolf 359 when they fire a crap load of photon torpedoes then I played the game and the ship fires them pretty slow. then I thought about the defiant and how you can shoot the torpedoes, some of the other ships should have this also but instead of two they could fire like 5 or 6 for Galaxy's. Then for the sovy I think it should have photon torpedoes and have the burst fire quantum torpedoes were it fires around 4. Another fed ship that could use this could be the arika in first contact it shoot a burst at the cube, It could be given a burst fire of 2.

The other races could also have some thing like this but it could be different a borg cube could fire a few pulse shoots the cube had did have a pulse type weapon in first contact

welcome to the forum :)

this idea is being currently discussed in another thread, i belive you are right about it, but i don't see this feature coming into the game any other way but as a special weapon

besides 2 isn't really a burst of anything!! minimum of 3 i think :P

3 torpedo burst is the standard on most medium and large sized federation ships. I wanted torpedo burst, I still do.

Torpedo burst for the visual effect I would love, but not nesesarily for the dammage.

Just to modify Praetor's comment, the Galaxy can fire a 10 torpedo burst from each of its two tubes and then has a 30 second reload or something, the Sovereign and more advanced ships (Prometheous etc.) have type 4 tubes, with a 12 round burst capability.

putting 10 & 12 round bursts are too much..... 3 rounds of photons and 4/5 rounds of quantums seems fine to me :P

I dont care if there is a 12 torp burst, but then 1 torp must do like 4 dam each :P

with that many torps flying around, in large scale battles it will be difficult to keep track of everything thats going on. :hmmm:
besides it has already been agreed with by the majority that this would be a special weapon that takes around 20/25 spec energy per volley of 3 photons or 5 quantums that seems a good step up from what it is currently like :P

Like it would be hard to figure out whats going on. Burst should be standard weapon anyway, not a special weapon.

burst fire torpedo weapon has to be made as a special weapon regardless of it using spec energy because the normal weapon files can't handle that. :blink:

when i said hard to keep track of things i meant the whole screen would just be one big blaze of torps how boring is that :hmmm: on a side note i think that might cause a little lag too :(

I do read, you just don't explain things. You say it's going to be a special weapon using special energy, then it looks like it's going to be a special weapon, using special energy.
