Breen weapons

The Breen in Fleet Ops use beam/pulse weapons, but I don't remember ever seing them use any conventional weapons aside from torpedoes. How come they have different weapons here?

im not particulary fond of the breen weapon effect either, in the previous builds i changed it.

I agree. Pulse weapons do not fit to them anyway...

IIRC i read somewhere (i think in my fact files) that in the series Breen ships are armed only with torpedo launchers. Maybe they could have just torps and a special ability like the Lup'Set's (torpedoes always hit).

That said, you do see a breen with a pulse rifle in an episode of DS9, so they have the tech at least, and with their alliance with the Dominion, perhaps their ships went through an overhaul.

All down to taste really. I must confess i never did like the pulse phaser-like weapon the cruiser has.
