Borg Transwarp Hub
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

I just watched the dreaded Voyager finale which is End Game, featuring the old Borg Transwarp Hub.
So, I thought to myself, how can the Borgs primary form of travel, be placed into FO, without shoving more power in the Borg's direction.
Towards the bottom is an image.
You will see an image of shapes on a black background.
Well, heres the idea. The GREEN shapes represent nebulae. The RED shape is a Transwarp Hub and the PURPLE shapes are Transwarp conduits. But, what does it all mean?
Well, the idea is that the Borg player, can place a Hub within a nebulae, which then entitles the player to use the Hub, to withdraw units. Basically, it works back to front of the real hub, you can't send units through, only retreat them.
For example, you send a cube to an enemy base, but you have placed a conduit on its doorstep. The Cube gets to low health, send it through the conduit, to the haven of the nebula.
Simple.
Now the issue here of course is, what if there are no nebulae on the map?
Well, I think that creation of the Transwarp Hub, should create a micro nebula that surrounds it, allowing it effectively to work.
The Hub itself would use special energy, which could be restored by the nebula.
Anyway, thoughts and opinion would be nice!

Transwarp Hubs would only be needed to travel between quadrents (and are only built in the Delta). For travel inside a quadrent, ship-based Transwarp should be fine.
Still, I miss the single-gate Transwarp portal from stock (the mission one, not the IA one) and wouldn't complain about the hub being added.

it's certainly an interesting idea, it would have to be really expensive though as it would basically allow cubes to be invincible if they stay near a conduit. and it would be late late game.

If it cant be implemented ingame, how about as a map object? such as the argus array is. I think perhaps that, and this has been suggested in another thread, but i have a slight adaption I think, is that you build the hub, which becomes your ship yard, and you have to call in borg ships from borg space. It only calls them in, with the hub having to be upgraded to allow bigger ships to be brought in, so that what happened to the diamond in that voyager episode where it collapsed, but the delta flyer got to safety because it was small, doesnt happen to ships called in.

Could be cool indeed for specific maps that are themed to such things

What if you could only send one ship through and then it'd drain the gate's energy thereby forcing it to close within seconds. Only get one ship through, and have a 10 minute cool down!

hmm... weather its a map object or implemented I would be extremely happy!
I love endgame. Gosh i gotta watch that again. Just one suggestion though. I think the cube should be engage through it, not retreat. If it could retreat that would be a huge pain lol.
