Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

i was thinking the borg could have promotions like the other teams to improve their ships but with a twist thats fitting to their faction

each ship to successfully assimilate a ship gets a promotion,(based on value so you cant just assimilate 5 sabers for a cube to reach top level.)

this makes them act more like the faction and they assimilate to gain knowledge so it all fits nicely
and destroying is still just as workable as is at the moment

Borg is organized as an interconnected collective. Decisions are made by the hive mind.

You can't rank up one ship because it is only part of that hive mind.

maybe all ships rank up if say 20 ships are assimilated, next rank up requires 40 ships more assimilated. something like that?

Its already been said that the Borg will have their own experience system down the road.

i always figured that the Borg should slowly gain resistance to specific weapons as they are used on the collective.

eg. As more phaser damage is given to the borg all of the borg ships on the map start to show some resistance to phaser damage.

but then the non borg would adapt their weapons to negate that effect that is what you see happening in the series.

it might be nice if they take less damage after a litle while but return to normal damage after they don't recieve damage for some time, simular to the romulans having more initial firepower for the first 15 secs or so,,,,

You already got resistance to torp / beam (phaser etc.) due torp / beam modules, against pulse due vessel size, and passives by the em module, then you got tactical modules, don't forget the transmission matrix with mostly passive and active specials that affect all borg vessels, and so on... overall they kinda work this way, just better adapted to RTS gameplay in my opinion.

Precisely.

The idea on assimilation is interesting, but how would you calculate it? Just by enemy crew assimilated? So the longer the vessel stays around assimilating stuff (even if not fully assimilated), the stronger it gets?
This might be a fun idea though...

Not really. Those who play Star Trek even now are mostly dedicated fans.
Due to the collective nature of the Borg it is near impossible to implements borg adaption (i.e. experience) without instantly creating an invulnerable monster.

For this reason I'd rather see the Borg removed completely.
