ok im a borg fan and a few questions
can the adaptors PLEASE assimilate CLoak it would be fun
also can u make adapting into the game somehow like for example adapt to federation quantum torpedo instead of 11 damage 6damage instead?
Also can u add remodulate weapons so borg weapons are more effective this could be a special weapon as could adapting

I think whats hes on about is, if th borg adapt a weapon, than that weapon becomes less effective against them. not sure how youd make that work, think it might be beyong the a2 engine, but worth a try. And as for cloak, littel ships would be able to cloak, but the devices are not powerfull enough to cloaka cube, and multiple devices affect each other so that would'nt work either (in other words a cloakeable cube. NoNoNoNoNo!
)

Also why is tevara more powerfull than a cube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
that makes no sense
i think the game is too balanced against the borg and the romulans too strong like u can build a warbird too early and cubes too expensive considering they aint that strong

see, the tavara cost credits, you can't build unlimited of them, but with cubes you can
the build price is even to a cube
and the tavara is the last ship in the romulan techtree, the cube in the borg techtree not
Lets review the both Ships:
Tavara:
Heavy Dreadnought
-----------------------
Di 1000
Tri 590
Crew 1350
C 3
--------------------------
375 Shield Hitpoints
260 Hull Hitpoints
------------------------
Disruptorbank ( 10 Damage, @ 2.0s)
Pulsedisruptor ( 27 Damage, @ 7.5s)
Pulsedisruptor ( 27 Damage, @ 7.5s)
Plasma Torpedo ( 15 Damage, @ 2.5s)
Plasma Torpedo ( 15 Damage, @ 2.5s)
Medium Range
----------------------------
Initially has the Covert-Ops Team special ability
Initially has the Rei'karansu Marines passive ability
Initially has the Cloak special ability
-------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------
Cube:
Battleship
--------------------------------
Di 1150
Tri 650
Crew 1400
---------------------------------
100 Shield Hitpoints
300 Hull Hitpoints
------------------------------------
High Energy Phaser ( 8 Damage, @ 2.0s)
Gravimetric Torpedo ( 19 Damage, @ 3.0s)
Long Range
---------------------------------------------------
Can be equipped with the Holding Beam special ability
Initially has the Regenerative Systems passive ability
------------------------------------------------------
As you see, the Tavara is not mush better than a Cube and you can only have 3 of them
so i think that the Tavara is not to strong

it has more weapons than the cube and it can take out a tactical cube also many agree warbirds are too easy to get its unbalanced

4 of 11, I see your point on that it is to strong but their can only be 3 at a time and there the top of the romie techtree, i would say that one cancels the other out.

you can't compare the cube to the tavara. the tavara has a very impressive firepower cause it has a very special energy source (i won't tell you more about it, cause it will be part of the singel player storyline).
the cube is a regulat battleship and the tavara is the final romulan dreadnought. you may compare a fusioncube to the tavara and "bang", the cube fires one torpedo and the shields of the tavara are gone with the wind.
the cube has large technology requirements, that's for all borg vessels. therefore the borg have a giant ammount of crew on each vessel and thanks to incubation complex they don't even have to worry about crew! which means they lack a whole resource which other players have to care about.
other way the borg can assimilate other vessels quite easy (holding beam on small vessels like rhienn for example) and then get vessels FOR NO COSTS and the enemy LOOSES THE VESSEL, which is much better then destroying them.
The D'deridex has very low technology requirements, that's part of the romulan balacing system.
and again: in flops not every race is superb in every sector. the races are very specialised and you will have to chose the race which fit's to youhr strategy. if you like playing with battleships you can use the romulans, but then don't cry if i beat you up with borg assimilators and scoutcubes. if you like to use small vesselsyou can use the federation, but then don't cry if i beat you up with borg cubes.. or assimilate you?...
there are nearly no allround vessels in flops, discover the strength and weaknesses of each ship
and finaly, there is a new balacing system for beta3, but it's not likely that there will be technology requirement changes. these will come in beta4 when every technology tree get redone cause there will be a new feature (a new kind of vessels).

well they should have above averagr boarding ability and mine faster
posted on December 31st, 2003, 2:33 pm
oh btw, being effetive does not mean to mine with incridible speed
being effective means that the ton of dilithium is just available in the moment where it is needed, so you don't have to spend any resources on storage.

hmm well what about adapting?

If you can do that in A2....

The simplest and easiest way to make the borg Cubes stronger and still give you a balanced game is to simply increase the regenration rate of the cubes.
In TNGseries battles u dont see the cubes having alot of weapons but what they do have is terrifying lol.
Possible increase the damage values of the borg cube weapons. But I think the first will give u what u want.
This will allow the cubes to outfight there opponents due to the fact they can last longer and take more punishment then any other opponent.
I already think they have this now from what I see ingame but I dont see a big balance issue by increasing that and keeping build costs the same as is.
No need for additional cube weapons except on the Tactial cUbe would like to see a phaser and holding beam thrown on that.

I dont think adaptaion is posible with a2, mabey regeration as a special weapon?

i do agree with bubba that would be nice make the regeneration better cause if a cube is to cost as much as it dose it needs to be a bit more deadly and tacktical cubes should have a cutting beam i understand why no holding beam cause its to combat races who resist assimilation no argument there but it dose need a cutting beam
