I hope i have posted this the right place:)
how come that the bonuses some races from the old armada had when boarding or being boarded are gone now? Would make sense that borg were better at this and klingons too? Or maybe transported more crew per second.
What doo u guys think?

FO goes by the logic that since they all have guns, every species combat abilities are identical with the Borg as the sole exception. They just increase the strength of some specific ships.
This has been brought up before (including by me) and it doesn't seem likely to be fixed (unless I missed something), so I just settle with altering my Instant Action only game.

In my opinion you really can't justify any race having an advantage or disadvantage, because as Tyler said they all have guns. In the shows when other races try to board they aren't that different from each other.
The Borg, of course, are a bit different, but to make it realistic you'd have to have them only lose maybe 10 crew, then assimilate the ship pretty quickly (they can adapt). Obviously that's a bit unbalancing.

I still think the Borg should still have a more canon feel to their boarding parties. Instead of boarding x amount of drones, they should have 1 or 2 go over and reduce crew over time. Also, have a chance that the crew could succeed in defeating the drones.

part of that is the show focused on fed ships, so they always beat back everyone
in reality klingons and borg would have advantages, with borg pretty much transport 5 drones over, there you go assimilated ship,
however for balancing issues this shouldnt be touched

Shields down should suck terribly. It scared the hell out of the enterprise crew.
They started doing desperate shit the moment the shields got to 50%.

Don't forget the Jem'Hadar; genetically-engineered supersoldiers that never tire and are even stronger than an average Klingon. Personal cloaks, also.

close quarter combat usually lasts a few seconds, klingons vs jem'hadar would be equal to one another in strength, so if that idea was put into use, how would you expect a klingon or dominion ship to be captured by these races?
the borg would loose one or two drones before adapting, depending on the size and where the crew is mainly focused, the crew could be overrun in a matter of minutes. all it would take is several drones.
the romulans are not that good in combat, but have an impressive display or using every advantage possible.
the feds are just, shoot to kill, secure a section and then get bogged down in combat, hand to hand vs jem'hadar is out of the question because the feds would loose easy. but just because one has a gun doesnt meant they are ready to attack an enemy with it.

Veteran ships should also have more boarding resistance, if it were possible. I think coding-wise, most of these ideas are quite a way away

Making ships more resistant to boarding and stronger at boarding is easy, with the stronger Borg presumably representing the adaption ability. Easier to assimilate ships, but can be countered.
Making veterans stronger is just as easy; ship-specific strength increasing code is already used in some ships (not that you'd know ingame, the increase just barely exists).
