Beam weapon effects upon striking shields

So I randomly stumbled upon this... and remembering not just that the Team is planning to "Update Beam Weapon effects" but that I still do not like how phasers and disrupters come in at oblique angles and definitely do not look like they so much as hit the shield, as are "cut off" at the tips (aka, see how the beams hit?: Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - A Federation Task Force attacking Dominion Cruisers) ... I thought that maybe a hybridization of this effect, and what is already there would be nice. *breath* (that was a long runon)

Shield Effect, Star Trek: Armada 2 Downloads, Star Trek: Armada 2 Texture Mods

So whaddya guys think? Remember, take a look now before the site goes down *sob*

I don't like those shield effects. we have something new planned for all weapons to make them look more showlike, but we are quite pleased with the shields at the moment. the beam weapon start and end cutoff will be adressed too, of course, but it takes some time. its planed for another future patch

Speaking about shields, are they going to cut when weapons stop firing or fade out, like in Bridge Commander?
