I have seen some mods to install DS9 into Armada II. I was wondering in the next beta that you can build DS9 for defence and for wormhole defence. :D :D and it would be neat to see the old station in this game for a battlestation.

"DS9" will be a building for the cardassian non player race (with a cardassian name ofcourse). The Federation has all its buildings in the Beta1, it is unlikely there will be another one..
In Fleet Operations every unit has its one an special purpose.. Before implementing a unit, we decide carefully what the race will have from this unit.. And to save the balance of power, there won't be new federation stations..
you have the Spacedock as some kind of heavy defence..

why not having DS9 has a deep space outpost with special deep space weaponry and a defiant stationed there for obvious reasons... and have the station as a orbiting mining facility, that can rotate itself (if possible)

Thre are no planets in Fleet Operations and therefore you won't have an orbiting facility ;-)
I don't think the Federation will start to build Cardassian stations

No, but Deep Space 9 is a cardassian station but under UFP control, so when you take over a cardassian controlled mining station you get DS9.. hehehe, but can a station orbit a dilithium moon and mine it at the same time?

Because there will be a expansion after the release of Fleet Operations, which could perhaps bring the Cardassians into the game, they wll have the 'right' to have "ds9" as their starbase.

Maybe you could add DS9 as a map object?

the only problem with DS9 is during the brief kilingon war in the series that station recieved many deadly upgrades. that thing had over 30 fireing hard points under siscos comand.that station(battle station) took out 9 battle ships, 12 large bops and more of the smaller ones, and did extreame damage to gaurons comand ship. that station in its self is a fleet!!!!!!! if added to the game it would be nice as taking it over even for a borge cube would be extreamly difficuilt as the borg need to drop the shields(in the game) making there hull more vulnerable. if that station is added under cardassion rule, it will not be as strong as DS9 was.

LOL, DS9 is a mining station. If you were to have Cardassians as a playable race, DS9 could be the Storage Dock.

It will be something between starbase and mining station as far as my plans go now..

I know this is going back to may, but hey!

So, are we actually going to be having the Cardassians as a playable race or not? (not as a map unit, but actually as a playable race)?

i say no to having a nor class station for any feds or anyother race execpt the cardassians and lets say if you deside to capture 1 i will not be as heavily defended as deep space 9.get my drift lets try to be canon here guys having a cardassian made and designed station built by the feds or any other race is not realistic at all please make some sense  :shifty:
