I just got this idea while playing C&C Generals: Zero Hour.

Instead of a fixed amount of credits, you could have some sort of kill-based credit earning system. Let's say if you kill two dreadnaughts you get one credit. Mabe one credit for a ship construction facility, two credits for an outpost... etc.

Or maybe aquire credits over time...

Well thats a dang good idea  , but it probably isn't possible :(

i had a similar idea like that, too, but not for credits but for something else.
in 4.0 you will find neutral stations (of course at hot points :P ) which will give you bonus credits or other nasty advantages, so you can fight and defend these strategic points to get more credits. i think a credits-per-killing system is quite impossible with armada, but i haven't looked that much on it yet.

Will any neutral stations or mercenaries be in 3.0?

i wanted to add the first, but the avatar system was a quick invention which took much time :) therefore the first nprs will defend your expensions in 4.0

What about acquiring credits over time. Set a long interval and make it a stay-alive mission...

Here's an idea on how to make the credit-gathering system:

Create a new resource, call it credits, assign each ship with fractions of credits, stations with full credits, and proceed from there.

Say a Romulan Warbird is 0.25 credits, a Borg Scoutcube is 0.5 credits and a captured ship (one of yours) is 0.25 credits. Now you have one extra credit.

Combine this with my Assault Troop Transport idea, and the game could get prety interesting.

All pretty cool ideas but i'd be happy with the advanced options having a higher credit system (15, 20, 25). I know I like a challenge but I also like all my fleets having a wide range of vessels (adds to the realism). Plus would be better for Borg fans who want everything (all the ships with upgrades AND a transwarp hub, I noticed it when I played as the Borg earlier.) ^_^

the new standard credit ammount is 20 (the prices have also been increased, the credit relations are the same), but you can increase the credit ammount up to 30.
