Anti-Race Weaponry/Stations

In simple terms, if you are the following race, you can counter an opposing race, with some of your ships being equipped with anti-race weapons, or for that matter stations.

For example:

Federation Vs. Borg - Monsoons equipped with Neuro-Inhibitor (Temporarily paralises targetted Borg engines for 10 seconds)

Dominion Vs. Romulan -  Subspace Array (Reveals up to 3 Romulan ships at random every 60 seconds)

Klingon Vs. Federation - K'Vort equipped with Shield-Breaking Torpedo (Does what it says on the tin, emphasising on eradicating the high defense of Fed ships...)

Interesting, but target-specific specialties don't seem too popular.

then one race would always be at a disadvantage over the other. I like the current counter each ship with another ship idea at the moment.

Oh don't get me wrong, everyone will have a counter, thats the idea. The Federation's Monsoon might be able to disable Borg engines, but the Borg will have there own anti-Fed ability.

I fear the scope of such changes would make them too cost effective and you'd end up seeing a spam if they are so good against one faction. The current balance has it that you must mix fleets if your opponent does so - if you have a unit that is good regardless of the situation, where is the incentive?  However, it could very well make some great Mixed-Technology units and abilities

Mixed tech sovvie, that does double damage to borg ships?    Requires borg mixed tech, of course.  How else will they know exactly where to shoot?

Not battleships, they aren't included in Mixed-Tech (Defiant being the sole exception, and not a capital ship). MT normally only goes as high as Cruisers.

I was just thinking of the combination of Picard + Enterprise-E.  That's mixed-tech, right?
