  Ok so Optec very kindly said he'd consider my request to have the Defiant-class Pulse Phaser's Shotdelay and Shotcycleresettime adjusted to make the pulse go PEW PEW PEW instead plop plop plop.

  So I'd like to ask that the same be done with the Veteran B'rel and and mixed Tech (Romulan) B'rel.

  Right now they both aquire what amounts to rapid-fire disruptors.  The Romulan variant gets no burst and instead has it's reload time reduced to 0.95 seconds (as opposed to the 2.4 seconds with the extra pulse at 0.6 on a normal B'rel).  The Veteran B'rel is set up as such:
shotcycleresettime = 1.8
shotdelay0 = 0.6
shotdelay1 = 0.6   :2guns:
shotdelay2 = 1.8
- so that it fires an extra pulse as a bonus!  Exciting!

   Now I like the way the current disruptors fire.  It reminds me of the TNG style seen in Generations, Yesterday's Enterprise, Redemption, and such.  I would not suggest the whole way the Klingon Disruptors be changed, but that when these vessels are used they get more of a "unique feel" to them to show visually that they are special  ^-^.  A more rapid volley like-
shotcycleresettime = 1.8
shotdelay0 = 0.3
shotdelay1 = 0.3   :guns:
shotdelay2 = 1.8
-would be the same amount of damage with a small graphical change to please those Klingon Commanders that have patiently and miraulously kept their B'rels alive long enough to rank them as vets!  Give us a little visual pew pew pew as a reward for being a battle hardened veteran!

  Please, of course  :D

Ok so here's another I'd like to suggest:

  One idea I had while scanning many of the weapon ordinance ODF's was that many vessel's damage comes from sources we might not realize.  For example, the Galaxy's damage comes almost completely from it's torpedoes.  Now know that doesn't really make much of a difference, but most people wouldn't really be aware that 80% of it's damage is in torpedo form.

  Same with the Nebula.  Most don't realize that the majority of it's damage comes in the pulse phaser.  In fact I noticed that for the Fed's in general the phasers tend to be more weak than I had previously been aware.  I can see why that is, given that phasers always hit, but a simple aesthetic addition of an asterisk, a color change for the primary weapon, or a simple notation might help people to use their vessels more effectively.

  Since each vessel has a tooltip with it's weapons listed, a simple notation as to which weapon holds most of the vessel's damage could help a lot of people quickly learn why their engagements never turn out well :)  The torpedo on the Kvort is a nice touch and makes it feel more realistic, but the actual damage from it is (on average) about 1/20th of it's actual DPS.  The Pulse do the rest.  Same with the Miranda.

  Just a thought.  Seems like it would be very quick to implement as well.

i thnk it would also be better for suprise attacks because the first damage after decloaking gets delivered faster, so im for it!  :thumbsup:

how about this instead?

shotdelay0 = 0.25
shotdelay1 = 0.25
shotdelay2 = 0.25
shotdelay3 = 0.25
shotdelay4 = 0.25
shotdelay5 = 2.0

now you are changing the attack value of the ship.
