An Idea... Passive Ability Sharing...

I was wondering if it'd be possible to code special abilities where some ships could share or even adopt other ship's passive abilities. Basically it'd set the stage interestingly. Like, you have a special ability that will share the effects of this passive ability with ships who do not have it for X seconds. Or you can target a ship and "assimilate" one of its passive abilities and install it permanently to your own. It may not be as effective, but it would have similar effects.

You mean something like the leadership buff from LOTR BFME? Stuff like that, aoe passive buffs/debuffs?

This can be done i'm sure.  Look at the remore and other ships with active abilities that affect other ships, all you need to do is make that active ability permanent and cost 0 energy and its a passive.

Still, can't say I like the idea in general, but it could work if carefully considered.
