So I am pondering that Alliance Game has been removed in FLOPS, :crybaby: why did we have to remove Alliance Game, when it is an option that can be turned on/off at the click of a button?

If you want it, its there, have some fun with it! :woot:
If you don't, turn it off! B)

How simple is that!! So who thinks it should be brought back? ???

My friends and I are shattered that FLOPS has removed the Aliiances game, as we would only want to make our alliances with people once the game had begun, not beforehand when you know nothing about the strengths and weaknesses of possible enemies/friendlies.

I don't remember that either, but it would be awesome to throw politics into the mix.

If they removed Warp, which could also be turned on/off at will, then the dissapearance of the Alliances option isn't that surprising. The game almost seems like its centered only on certain peoples opinions while ignoring others (seems that way to me, at least).

alliance option?
is that like mid game you can change teams ?
I never use that cause it is lame in a lan game cause like 3 peeps can gang up on 1 and the game is lame

That exactly what it is.

I liked that thing, though I only remember it in A1 and not A2. Then again I never played a lot of A2 so I had no idea it existed.
But honestly Id like that thing back.

BTW: tyler they are doing the game in the way they imagined it. Some times it is the same as you think some times its not. Deal with it.
I think we should all be glad they actually acknowledge and incorporate some of our ideas, not a lot of gaming communities can say that.

I'm actually quite fine with it, it's just that that's how it seems to me sometimes.

Regarding warp... it was removed because the game was balanced around no-warp tech... Alliance shouldn't affect balance however  :shifty:

Fleet Ops is a small enough community where the people playing it usually know each other.  Therefore, everybody ganging up on one guy like a bunch of (pardon the language) assholes is a lot less likely than it was on stock A2.

The problem with Alliance games is that if we ever played them Me or barron would get ganged up on instantly.

Nah, you just need the right people playing with you :P
Honestly Id really like to give it a try, it might be fun. Though I have a feeling it would depend more on luck than on skills :)

What people are forgetting is that alliance is required to play some races correctly. If the backstabbing races (e.g. Romulans) were on the losing side, what would they do? Switch sides. Alliances allows Romulan players to do what Romulans would actually do.
