Advertisement: Game convention booth?

Idea: For advertising, get a booth (or just have some folks hand out business cards*) at a game convention of some sort.

*you can actually make business card CDs... with Flops on it, as a way to distribute and get people to take a look.

Brilliant! Just make a kit with printable cd labels and what not and there you go. Have them contact you in after a week or two to see if they would be willing to donate.

Yeah, but this could be a double edged sword. Imagine some big game company shows up, takes a look, likes what they see, and then tries to buy you out. Granted, the chances of that happening are very small, but still. And, technically, people couldn't test the game without an A2 CD, so unless the devs distributed some kind of special play disk or used a crack, it wouldnt' work.

In principle though, it's not a bad idea.

I think that as long as FO requires an existing A2 CD or exe, it will not be itself on CDs nor have it's own booth.

During Beta2 it made its way onto PCgamer (I think that was the magazine) and was distributed on their CD's

having fleetops distributed on cds wouldnt be illegal as long as the original armada 2 cd isnt distributed and is still necessary to install and play.

also they cant buy fleetops without the devs permission. they can offer money, but the devs can refuse. although i would expect them to accept loads of money as money is great
