I had another thought, looking through some of the threads.  There is room, MUCH later down the road, for sub races.  Such as, the marque for the feds, cardassians for the dominion, two factions(gowron and Durass) for the klingons, the romulans and remans, borg...not sure there maybe...the cut from the collective borg faction?  Just that you can could create a specific station(base station) and then shipyard, that can only be opened after you build a certain number of race specific stations to unlock these.  Or, if possible made an option in the game lobby to turn on or off these sub race options as well if people don't want those included in the match.

Also..a very viable counter to the borg would be species 8472.  I'm curious as to why no one has thought of them before to propose in fact.  All in all they would be a formitable addition and bring more alternatives to strategy and game play.  They are certainly different, just like the way you have to build borg vessels.  They come from a hive ship(station class) but it requires the 'miners' to bring fluidic resources to the hive ship for it to be able to produce ships.  Akin to the borg and the collective node counter.  I would surmise they won't have shields like the borg, just a natural defensive harness to weapons.  OR another idea, but is limited to certain maps, they have to mine resources from nebulas(shotty at best, but a suggestion). 

Another VERY interesting faction I didn't used to like but kind of learned into was the Ferengi's.  They are very open to ship options and design as they are and were never focused on.  We've seen..what..3 designs the entire time the shows have been on.  They can delve into more of the prospect of normal building but have the addition of offering trade and taking ships to boost production.  Or mining could be doubled if you build a trading outpost.  That of which would link two starbases.  Of course meaning you have to build more than one and a certain distance apart from each other.  Say your starting base and a secondary area for mining dilithium and trilithium.  I'm sure a script or code could be made to put those limitation in place.

Yes, many of those have actually been brought before, and many have been considered, dismissed, ignored, or the devs said they were working on it. However, don;t be worried micro races like the Ferengi, Xindi, Vulcans, will be sometime in the future.

Ahh.  My apologies then, sir.  There are hundreds of posts to sort through and read since I've just joined the forums last night.  I do hope perhaps that the idea's not the topics of those ideas are slightly more unique and put more hold on the possiblity of a solution to such.  If so, well, there they are, if they have already been mention, its of not harm to think of. :)
