Just wondering if there any any plans to add damaged ship graphics in a future patch, such as if a ships engines are damaged to the point they are taken offline then one of the nacelles could leak plasma/antimatter, as if I remember the old armada 2 had this feature when a ship went under a certain amount of health/crew loss. Maybe some parts of a ship could catch fire or something, would be nice to see a borg cubes hull look heavily damaged when its low on health etc.

It would be awesome to some damage.  Even if it just looked like this.(which is pritty good as well)

I miss the damage effects. they were my favorite part of stock.
Those effects right there are awesome.

It would be really awesome if we could get them on par with legacy.  Losing nacelles and hull breaches and such.  It could be really cool. :woot:  Here are some examples.

Loss of a Nacelle isn't Legacy unique and would be somewhat difficult (understatment) for Armada2.

Nacelle venting could be done quite easily compared to nacelles breaking apart, it would be really cool, I wonder if that would require work on the games engine..... its a daunting task just thinking about it.

Couldnt plasma venting be simulated by changing the nacelle glow to a different color and or increasing the saturation and link that with the engine subsystem status?

I disagree.  All you need is a sod replacement when a ship loses engines or something, and it uses two separate sods for the ship.  One the ship, minus the nacelle, and on the nacelle, with nothing but textures, and the scene root.

It would be just as difficult as module combination for the borg, and look how well that turned out.  I think it would be easily be implemented by 4.0  Epically with the great team we have here.  :D

The problem is what happens if the ship somehow survives and is repaired by a repair ship, does the nacelle suddenly be reattached?

If you want to try and set the sod to change and start venting when a subsystem gets blown to hell, feel free. It is a lot different to the basic 'refit under a new name' style of change that the Borg use.

Oh, yeah, that is a very cool feature. I never really noticed it, but when you think about it, it adds a great effect of realism to the game. Burning charred, half blown up ships are cool to have floating around. Yeah, it would be great to include that in the game.  B)

Ships in that condition would also make great wreckage. Not derelict or capturable, just a broken hulk.

I think that ships with a completely destroyed subsystem should have to go back, or be towed back to a dry dock to be repaired.

Even if this can't be implemented, I would love to see some space wreckage.
