What do you guys think of adding a chat on the website?  Do you think it will hurt or take from the forums?  The reason I ask is because many of us can access simple chat functions from our phones or from computers during downtime at work/school.  It worked for the World of Warcraft guild I was in.  It let a close-knit online community keep in touch and allowed interactive commenting on previous games and posts and inside jokes, etc.

Remember to select "Yes" on the poll if you would like to see a chat room, on the main page perhaps.

Or select "No" on the poll if you wouldn't or think it would hurt forum interaction.

p.s. If majority rules "Yes," I will submit the poll results to Dom or Optec and ask if they will implement the chat to the website.

 I'm pleased you think I'm a dev, but I'm not  :sweatdrop: . Didn't stop me from voting 'yes' of course . Chat (and a whole redo in fact) has been planned for a future version of the forum - but Doca would much prefer to work on the game, so you'll have to expect that for some future date :D

Admittedly, it would probably be nice to have it sooner than later, for the exact reasons you suggested :)

lol...Dom, I know you're not a Dev.  It was a slip of the keyboard I guess.  I meant Doca. lol :-p  Sorry for the temporary ego boost....and now sorry deflation of said ego boost. :-p

A chat might be good. Another forum I'm with has a pop-up chat that is often more active than the forum itself.

Would it be hard to implement a chat into the forums?

Chats aren't hard to do really.  Its just how to (and if, in this case) implement them really.

I would be for it.  Wouldn;t use it much, but It would be alot easer to talk to someone when you are both online.  PMing is more of an email than a chat.

Just wanted to bump this thread up so we could get some more votes!  :whistling:

I'd love a chat feature here to get to know some people better. I've seen so many people often over the last year and yet I barely know anyone on this site.

Well, tunngle is nice because you can chat with everyone in a group, even if you don't want to play a game online.  You could still log on when it's busy and chat a bit. ^-^

Still would be nice to have an integrated chat feature for the forums, so that you didn't have to download a vpn service on your business computer. :whistling:  That could be bad.

But in the mean time, come chat with us online.  It's tunngles of fun!

I'll probably bump this one or two more times to get a more diverse voting pool.  Let me know your thoughts.

I would like to see if there are people who know how to do this.  It would be cool to see if someone else could make it happen so Doca wouldn't have to do much work on it.  We've got a lot of talented people who know about computer things, and stuff!
