A rather interesting idea.

I was thinking about geometry lately and I just thought of something. If you combine 6 square bottomed pyramids (the sides being of some specific angle, I believe 45 degree angle) together you can make a cube. So I was thinking if is possible to have this as the process to create the command cube. But since the in-game pyramids have the top sliced off... what if a scout cube would be centered in? Basically this is how it would work.

The Scout cube is centered and rotates itself to get into orientation, underneath will be a pyramid in standard orientation. On each side will be a pyramid with the pitch at 90 degrees and rotated to its top facing a side of the scout cube. And above will be a pyramid completely upside down. This will slowly come together until they can successfully fuse together. Then you got yourself a command cube! :woot:

But then Optimize gets no Command Cube...

The Command Cube won't be a fusion anything :) The other known info is in the guide  :sweatdrop:

Nice thought nonetheless, but it doesn't make too much sense with the module implementation I think

EDIT: typo...

I think in a purely visual concept its a really cool Idea but like Dom said it dosent make much sense.

It may not make that much sense but its still cool. I like it though, it could be some kind of powerful fusion vessel. I think that would dramatically increase the ship's fire power. I think it sounds like something the Borg would do. You could still make it though.

Thats the only fusion idea that i have heard that i think sounds interesting (other than maybe fusing scubes) but i really think it could be done and it would look cool. I just dont know if you could get the ships to turn correctly for fusing however when i get home i may play around with a model of what it would look like.

Sorry for the double post but i went ahead a set up an example of what it might look like if you created such a ship. Also due to some kind of conversion error the models texture doesnt display correctly. And unless someone whats to give me an unlocked sod importer i wont be able to correctly display the model.

I set up the rest of the borg fleet for size comparison

Edit: I forgot the Scube and i added a background :)

First thing that came to my mind

Why are you thinking of this in your free time?

I'm kidding!

Good idea, but I believe Optecs post just shot it down.

Yes, I can understand. Though just because your not a fan doesn't mean it shouldn't be there. It does howenver pose as a ver 'borg-like' feature.

  Lol, Gamer :D.

When it's your own mod, not being a fan of something is the PERFECT reason not to add it.

  You tit.  :D

When will you learn!

Seriously Gamer .....
really .....
who else is qualified to determine it?? Me ??? i havent done to much besides work on the images in the guide. You ?? dont take this too personally but other than provide a few ideas you havent done that much either. Then we have the devs, DOCa Cola... He has spent countless hours working on the coding of the mod. He is prolly the foremost expert on how the A2 engine works (well other than maybe someone who has the source code:) )  then Zeich, a very talented individual who responsible for the creation of many great models for FO... then we have Optech who seems to be a little bit of the jack of all trades here lol, i believe he is the head artist, he has mad a few of the models as well, he also seems to be the head keeper of the peace around here...

As it has already been said if someday the devs make you one of their own and you have spent a comparable amount working on this mod then you will have some pull as to what is in the mod. Otherwise you are in no position to inform the devs what is and is not apposite for the game.

Now i may go ahead and work on doing this myself as i rather enjoy they way that the ship looks. However like i said it right now the textures are not exporting correctly.
