A "not" button for random race selection

a "random" idea

When doing race selection I've heard folks say "I'll go random, but I don't want ". Have a button, checkbox or other UI element that allows the player to select random race, but exclude the selected race from the random selection.

Borg .................Yes
Dominion........... NOOOOOOOOO!

That would be a lot of work for the Devs, for such little gain for the game. It also kinda defeats the object of having Random at all, narrowing down the options (when there's only five atm anyway). Random should be random, not limited. Either select Random as-is, or select a race.

Yes i think this was also suggested some years back. I have also seen this in another game (earth 2150) and liked the idea. Sometimes you want to go random but you are just not in the mood to play a particular race. For Fleet Operations where the races play so differently this would definitively a good addition.

Edit: ah, yes. A todo for that exists already a while now

I agree on this one.

I always wanted to have an "anything but the Federation" option when selecting the faction.

Still, my particular install of the game seems to favor Klingons (about 50%) and Romulans (may be another 30%) against the other races (20% combined for the remaining three), so I rarely need to cancel due to getting Feds.

i personally sometimes dont like dominion because i suck at them. but then i like random because it forces me to play as them, and get better at my weakness.

anyway, this idea is fine by me

for 2 vs 2 games it can help avoid the old op double klin or double borg or double fed etc if one player choses 1 race and the other goes random

yes i know its been a while since i played and posted ill get back to it sometime properly
