A Mixed-Tech D'Deridex (Klingon)
Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

Hello!
There's been talk of mixed-tech stuff lately and I remembered an idea I had for the Romulan D'Deridex. People have mentioned that, like the Vorcha, the D'Deridex has been seen firing Pulse Disruptors in the shows, yet do not in the game. When Myleswolfers pointed out that the Vorcha should have pulse's, I suggested maybe that, as a mixed-tech special weapon, it gain a "pulse bombardment" as a special weapon. That weapon could replace the Polaron torpedo and, instead of disabling 1 system for 8 seconds, it could disable multiple systems for half that time. That idea seemed to fly pretty well, so I though that I might suggest a Mixed-Tech Warbird in the same vein.
The Mixed-Tech (Klingon) Generix is sadly not worth using by either avatar as their own Generix are more useful. Perhaps the Big D could make it's sole appearance in the mixed-tech yards as a Klingon-inspired version?
I'd up it's Offensive value from 35 to 40-42, drop it's Defense from 40 to 38, and add the Pulse Bombardment as a special ability. I think that a 4 second multi-system disable could be very neat
and keep people happy who want to see the volley of Pulse Disruptor's seen in TNG's "Tin Man" or "The Nuetral Zone" (I think ... the one where Tomolak greets Picard and the Klingons assist).
What does everyone think? My one nay thought already is just that the Big D model might not look right being built in the tiny Mixed-tech yard ...

Although I like the idea of a pulse-armed D'deridex (otherwise known as Norexan-lite normally), I'm sure they said MT wasn't going to include Battleships.

To be honest, I'd much rather see a generix that gains supply on rank up.

Yeah they've said that, but I also heard that the idea of a mixed-tech Big D was not out of the question.
Supply on rank-up generix? But ... but .... Rommies don't eat through supply like Klingons do and get a normal price.
@Tyler:
It's not a pulse-armed D'deridex. It's a Beam/Torpedo Big D with a Pulse-based disabler.

They get the normal price, but Mijural does eat through supplies far faster than the klingons.
So the Big D has an extra special that disables weapons. I'm good with that. I just wish we knew how mixed tech was going to change.

Isn't a 'pulse-based disabler' still a pulse, just with a different effect?

If you say a D'Deridex that is "Pulse Based", that means that it does most of it's damage using pulse weapons. That is not what I am suggesting. A special weapon that fires a disabler in the form of pulse weapons is more or less an aesthetic.
You referred to the Norexan. THAT's a pulse based ship because it does most of it's damage with Pulse Weapons. The Big D is Torp/Beam based and this one would remain that way

So you mean like the Critical shot, which is dual-Quantums without any torpedo properties? Now I see what you mean.
I thought you meant a pulse that disables a system as a passive special, like the Shrike's disruptors.

Nope! Special ability like the Polaron Torpedo (hence the Klingon Mixed Tech
) but based on a Pulse Bombardment of 3 or 4 pulse's for sweet sweet pewpewpew effect.

Maybe, just maybe, the difference between Galea and Tal'Shiar avatars could be that the D'deridex gains a nice pulse weapon disabler?
