@baron no more or less powerfull than your run-o-the-mill Photon torp.

@rhaz: the stuff on wiki is put together by a load of assuptions, very little actual facts. nuff said.

Yeah right, and u're oppinion isnt based on assuptions right. You were actually there when they constructed the first Akira right and Breen cruiser too

dude i could say that the Saber Class USS Thunderchild accounted for more than 150 bug ships destroyed, that doesnt make it true, yet could just as easily be added to wiki.

there were high def photos of most of the models the guy who designed it said it . if i can find the links again ill post them...

I have to admit: I love the Akira too - but I don't want to distrub you guys arguing about wiki-stuff

Heh, back from vacation.. I really don't think the borg should have type X cubes and junk.. that would be stupid.. seeing how the game is mostly based on invasion, they only need one type of cube and whatnot.. Uhhh.. what have you been watching? spheres are escape crafts for cubes, or so my assumption is from first contact. I agree with the 2 weapon thing.. we should have extended delay times for little ships with their photon torpedos and reduce the delay as the ships become more advanced, or we could have the same delays and just reduce the damage of the photon torpedos of the little ships or something.. would seem right.. different classes of torpedos? I dono... As for wikpedia... guys, seriously.. you can't rely on it for facts.. and about the federation.. they were made mostly of galaxys, a nebulas, excelsiors (curse my spelling), and many akiras. If the akira was a weak support ship, why would there be an akira in so many battle scenes? Think about it.. wolf 359.. first contact, the dominion wars.. it is a powerfull cruiser.. should be like a battle cruiser.. but not too powerfull. i'd say a good strong supporting medium ship. No.. the romulans seem about right to me. I mean, cmon.. they operate mostly on stealth, and strike when they found a critical weakness in their enemy... I think having few attack runs suits them.. I don't think the two weapon rule should apply to klingons though, at least not with phasers. Give them disruptor cannons or something.. I don't know. Its too late at night for me to think xD.... Well, imo Corey is right about the Akira and about Wikipedia

(And something I noticed on that site about the Akira: the Steamrunner-class has at least one phaser. Why not add one in FO? Though it does not seem to be just for self-defense at least for that I think the Steamrunner should get one.)

[I think somehow we should start moving back into the Akira-thread with that discussion. Perhaps I'll start a new one for the Steamrunner... ]

yeah exactly what i've been saying about wiki, people quote from it and seem to think its cannon . but:
1: there was never going to be enough galaxy classes to make up most of a fleet, most were made up of excelsiors, steamrunners, akiras & mirandas (probably in that order give or tke) from what was seen on screen.
2: there were no Akiras at wolf 359 their first appearance was FC.

suppose you could mistake the wreakage of that for an akira, but make no mistake there were no Akiras at wolf 359. the akira was one of the new designs, desinged for the FC movie battle scene, then obviously got further use in later episodes.

if i recall the new orleans class ships were used (at first) as a test bed for the nebula and galaxy's photon torpedo launchers, but were used as long range support (AKA: arty) later on. but i could be wrong
