Try that with any human player and I believe it will all come to naught.

Against a human, the only thing you can do with a massive Negh'var fleet is lunge it straight for their base and try to cripple their economy and production capability. Unless they're Borg (where the Negh'var suddenly comes into it's own because it's weapons are murder on Borg vessels) the Neggy's lack of range ends her. And one Sensor Blackout forces you to retreat the Negh'var instantly. That rate-of-fire reduction on an already slow-firing ship renders them completely helpless. A Sovvie backing up the Canaveral can take out all their engines at the same time so they can't even run away. They'll be turned into space dust without effort by the Feds.
Against humans, K'vort and Vor'cha seem best as your main-stays, with a bit of Sang and B'rel backup. I don't count the artillery ship because 99% of the time, if I play Klingons, I play Martok.

How about we leave it as this.........
Spam is good if you give it. But it goes bad when you get it.
And maybe we can try to reason on maybe some areas where spamming is actually good...

If you win... it's good.

if U win its boring, if U lose its boring, bottom line is its boring.
Ive already posted my ideas how to stop it. In short 10 sabers should not be able to kill a tavara. sang should be able to do that. as for the feds i think that akira could be refited for this role, nerf phaser to shield scratcher, give it one more torpedo luncher, burst fire torpedoes, make it long range. this way akira would be a counter to battleships for the feds. if every ship has a counter there is no point in spamming anything.

So we play rock-paper-scissors now?
I build ship A, enemy builds the counter, I build the counter to the counter, he builds...
You get the idea...

Forced diversity is irrelevant.
We are Borg. Each collective hub will play as per their built-in instructions.
Resistance is Futile.

Bah... The Borg are overrated...
Come to the Dark Side... We have cookies.

Open your ovens and prepare your cookies for assimilation. They will adapt to serve the Collective. Baking more is futile.

You can try to deter spam, much like you can deter a thief from jacking you. However, there will always be that person with the determination to make something happen regardless of the deterrent.

Eh................................... Whatever.... To me all the Borg need to assimilate to reach perfection would be one of them Q. Hey borgy! Go after Q if you want real assimilation...

Except that it would never happen because with one snap of his fingers, a Q would turn the borg cube into a giant piñata filled with 10,000 candied drones...

Only Q would, the other Q wouldn't be as childish.

no, we play spam now. i will take combined fleet over spam any day.
excelsior2, excelsior2, excelsior2, canaveral, excelsior2 ... U get the idea. btw warpin does not make a difference

EDIT: here is a not rock-paper-scissors explenation of counters and what i meant
Matchups denote the situations a unit performs best in.
A unit counters another unit if it easily wins against that unit. It hard counters a unit if it completely dominates that unit, with little threat to itself, even against massed numbers. It soft counters a unit if it usually wins in relatively even numbers (by cost), especially in a massed battle.
Likewise, a unit is countered by another unit if it easily loses to that unit. A unit is hard countered by if it stands no real chance against the target, even in large numbers. And it is soft countered by a target if it is unlikely to win in relatively equal numbers (by cost). A unit can also be countered by a special ability. In this case, a special ability hard counters a unit if it can destroy a unit. It soft counters a unit if it disables that unit or makes it substantially less effective without destroying it.
Matchups can be dictated by a number of factors, including attack types, cost, speed or cooldown, armor, size.
its as simple as: U produce unit A -> i produce unit B ( a counter) -> game over. from what i understand the devs does not like hard counters, i'm fine with that. not every rts need to have hard counters but at least some soft counters are needed to prevent spamming. i mean every unit must be countered by something. hopefully in 3.0.8 it will

That's what the interceptor units are designed for
