Tricobalts
You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

The intrep special is called "Tricobalt Torpedo" and does 40 base damage.
the steamy's normal weapon, is called "Light Tricobalt Torpedo" and does 58.557 base damage.
why does the steamy have a light trico that does more damage than the normal trico of the intrep?
maybe the intrep should have light trico, and the steamy has the name of just normal trico.
no damage changes, just a name change.

Really... that's a little strange.
Maybe its not just a name thing though. Could be a scientific thing like the Tricobalt was the early version and then scientists improved on it using a special form of tricobalt called "Light Tricobalt" therefore its a Light Tricobalt Torpedo which does more damage than the standard variant.

It would make sense for an artillery ship to have the non-light version. Maybe it's just better at lighting a room?
Edit - whoops, just read the date. Only a 15 day res though, I've seen worse.

lol steamy trico lights up the galaxy by making helpless mining stations explode in a massive fireball.

Just because its light doesnt mean its suppose to deal less damage. For example:In the 18th century light dragoons were better than normal dragoons

Yes, but they were probably better because the development from dragoon to light dragoon allowed them to be used in different roles in battle which they were unsuited to before. But with artillery heavy generally means a bigger bang than light.

Haha, good finding. Never looked at it. But surelz it has to be changed. I'd exchasnge the names to be honest, not empowering the intrepid.

I'm all for swapping the names, but I think I just got why the are named the way they are. Presumably Intrepid tricobalts are bigger and therefore take up more space and less can be carried, therefore they are only fired occasionally. The steamy must have hundreds on board, so they are probably smaller.
