hi all just wondering what peoples opinions are of who is easiest or hardest to win with ive been playing nirvana 2 alot in instant action against 7 merciless ai here are my opinions for you all
1-borg easy just build cubes and its all over
2-romulan their pulse disruptors are much better than beam weapons and having 2 tavaras makes life so much easier and their cloak makes for great hit and run tactics with generix support refits helping your fleet stay in good shape
3-klingon only easier than dominion because of the amount of ships you can build early on the neghvar isnt too good as it cant get away quick enough when outnumbered but superior numbers is always in your favour
4-dominion if it wasnt for prototypes it would be alot easier a few times the enemy have sneaked past my defenses and destroyed my prototypes meaning i cant bolster my fleet with battleships til i get another prototype
5- federation the hardest it seem as everytime i use them i think i piss the borg off they always build huge fleets of cubes in hardly anytime ive beaten them once but if you get unlucky and theres 2 borg ai forget it lol

i think the feds aren't as bad as you think, they are just a defensive race.
you must try to get many ranked up ships, and to waste as few ships as possible.
my tactics are mostly very defensive and mid- lategame:
i expand as fast as i can and harras my enemies mining with a fast warpin.
i always rescue these ships, especcially if i get steamrunners. if you get steamrunners, use them to destroy expensive buildings of your enemy, like th central section of the klinon yard, etc.
while harrassing i don NOT tech up, but i try to expand fast, just with a few sabers to defend my expansions, because if my enemy attacks i can still warp-in a defense fleet for this expansion.
if i have 2-3 moon pairs i bild eraudi yard and fortify my expansions with 2-3 torpedo turrets.(i always play mayson^^)
if i have a few moonpairs that are defended by my turrets, i start to build my fleet. my backbone are exelsior II's , because they work really good against large and medium vessels, and small vessels aren't very often to encounter in mid-lategame. another good thing about them is tha you don't nee dto research any chassis.
in nirvana II i just qould use torpedo turrets on my own wormhole, a few an nothing should go through anymore, especcially if you use 3 newtons to repair them.
so, thats all i had to say^^

dont get me wrong i like playing as the feds but as i said it seems when i use them the borg build huge fleets but if i use anyone else it sometimes takes ages for them to build a single cube i always play against 1 of each faction and 2 random like i said if you get unlucky and 1 or even both random turn out to be borg your in serious trouble and before you know it there are cubes everywhere and is not unknown that 2 teams attack your base at once with several cubes each 1 tactic i like usung is 2 starbases a fleet of ships and several turrets gaurding my wormhole then i just wait let them come watch my ships reach double gold then when they do move them till i have a very large fleet of double gold ships led by 3 veterens

I would have to disagree. I almost only play as the feds, and yes they are hard to use, but if used correctly they are actually the easiest to win against the borg.
If you warpin rush, and spam noways, you can win. You should send the ships to block the attack before they get to your base, and then build torpedo platforms at that pass to allow you to move forward. You can do that, or you can just rush them, avoid the assimilators all together, and destroy their unguarded base.

Use Sensor Blackout efficiently, and you can win versus anything.

thats how i beat them i just sat back and built a huge fleet then while they were off attacking anything and everything else i struck with their base unprotected with only 1 or 2 cubes i wiped out the base in 1 go but i guess my main point is that the borg seem to build up alot quicker if im the feds it doesnt help when i look about and find theres 2 sometimes even 3 borg teams the feds annoy me anyway when i want a prometheus i get a descent and when i want a descent i get a prometheus

Are you kidding me!!!? Feds are far the easiest to play. You can mass a huge fleet in no time with opewrfull special weopons. You have the torpedo turret, which kickes butt.
Here is my list:
1- Federation (can warpin rush and destroy minning with steamrunners, and has Excellsior IIs).
2- Dominion (just ram your oppoent's constructors and minning at the beggining and it's all over)
3- Borg (assimilate ships with assimilators)
4- Rommulan (reins are good, so are generexes, but everything else wont get you far)
5- Klingon (by the time I mass a fleet of b'rels, my opponent allready has a fleet of Warpins and Excellsor IIs)
If you want, you and I can play a 1vs1 game against me. I'll be feds and you can be whhatever you want, and you'll see what I mean.

Funnystuff, they are talking about the AI

Oh
Well, I hate the AI. I mean come on! The AI cheats, and It sucks. The send a bunch of worthless crap ships at you every second, and build 100 yards.

you all seem to be missing the fact that there are 7 merciless ai opponents so there are never any easy battles its not just 1 team your facing after all so if you think a few sabers and a warp in fleet will be much help think again you need to build up ur forces and defences b4 you even think about expanding

Actualy, a couple sabers and some warpins can help. You can slow your enemy down while you build up allowing you to build more and have the upper hand. You rarely won the game by just defending. Chances are, your opponents gonna be taking advantage of your tactical weaknesses every chance theu can get. And if you never take advantage of their weaknesses, they will end up beating you.
