Starfleet Command Ships
You feel like a battlecruiser is too weak or a race too strong? Go ahead and discuss it here :)

One thing I've noticed when playing with feds is that they seems to use less supplies that others. With default supplies, I can build almost 2 fleets, but when i play with klingons for example, I need to buy supplies at least one. This is because starfleet command vessel don't cost supplies which is a little unbalanced, at least in the beginning of the game. Any thoughts on this ?

the differences in supply costs are actually intended. Its not only Starfleet Command, the general Federation vessel costs a little less supplies then Klingon or Romulan vessels. They receive other advantages.

There is a reason Federation Engineers are famous.

Afterall, it's not just the Domies and Borgies that have the weird supply costs... Romulans have some different supply costs as well

Yeah like the fact that shield reset costs supplies....
is this the only special ability that costs supplies?

I was going to ask about the Fed supplies actually because im starting to like fed a bit (especially warp in).
perhaps the Fed could take supplies on building a ship, but then return the supplies when its killed ? (unless it does that already)
then it could have say 250 total supplies, and no supply 'income' it just has to make do with the fixed supplies (replicator tech allows reconstruction with same resources)

That would make them the only faction with a build cap... which would make them useless for long games. Plus, how exactly would you get the supplies back from the field of battle? Supplies represent all the little necessities and special items that can't be made from tritanium or dilithium...

The Dominion "Carrier" ship that launches fighters cost a little Dilithium, a little Trilithium & Supplies. i know the federation Carrier cost the regular Di and Tri, not SO sure about the Supply.

Everyone likes the Federation. there a swell bunch of guys, "so long as there replicators work and they have food in there bellies. but you deprive them of there creature comforts Nog..."
But i have to say, the whole getting the supplies back after a ship has been destroyed...
yeah, how about ya go to Vegas, but $20 on black. have it come up Red and asking the nice man behind the counter if you can have your money back.
Destroyed is DESTROYED my friend.
It isn't like A2 and there Officer caps. Hey, we lost 20 officers today, what do we do? Time to recruit 20 more! who wants to join starfleet and be expendable?
again, People are expendable, resources are not. HEY here is a thought though. we all know how the Ferengi come along and salvage abandoned ships... and we have mining freighters... WHAT IF...
are you ready for this...
When a ship is destroyed, it leaves "space junk" wherever it was.
and after a huge battle, the aftermath would look something like Wolf359.
WHAT IF we had a mining freighter that would come along, and could slavage the "space junk" like it would a moon for what ever metals and supply it could, and when done, said "space junk" would disapear. kinda like the latunum clouds in A2.
just a crazy thought.

If that's true, the klingons would need the fewest supplies of all factions. All they need is gagh, bloodwine and a bat'leth !
