Kvort vs. Dominion

Since my first match vs a human is at hand (one of which I know that he heavily relies on Kvort (=spam)). How would I counter him, when everything that a dominion yard fields fills up the countertable of the Kvort?

spam t15. they take 50% reduced damage from short range ships like kvort.
and 20% reduced from pulses.
and they are armed with pulses themselves which will deal full damage to small kvorts.
also you could find more interesting people to play against, spamming isnt really that fun.

T15 is best counter for Dominion. But you can also use bombers since they are vs short range and can take out structures easily. The only thing you should not rely on are Bugs...

unfortunately the bomber will miss 40% of the time on the kvort, and is small and takes full pulse damage from the kvort. it's passive just wont help enough. they will die long before repairing, while the kvorts can just cloak and run away.

The problem is that in any case I won't find time to tech up to the large construction yard. T15 were my guess, but Kvorts are out a lot earlier, even if you skip building any vessels before.
I thought the Kvort was medium ranged, but I just misread the guide
So S2 are out?
Bugs are out because they take extra damage from Kvort (since they are medium ranged)
Bombers are out because they fall to pulses and miss the Kvort
S2 are out because they take extra damage from short ranged vessels,
T15 are out because they come to late
Are Breen Cruiser a viable alternative?

t15 arent too late, they dont need prototypes so can come straight after yard is made.
if u rush up to big yard, maybe with 3 bugs from lower yard to use on defence u can get t15 out pretty early.
the fact that they take less than half damage from kvorts means they will be awesome. even 1 should be able to hold off multiple kvorts.
also breens will fail terribly, they do very bad against small ships. they are battleship killers.
EDIT: just did some checking on the strat. needs some testing but i would try this:
- do base mining as normal.
- do 1 lower yard, queue up 3-5 bugs, then s-2 proto
- do tech lab
- while tech lab is building, send the idle con ship to expansion.
- by the time the con ship gets to expansion, hopefully the tech lab is nearly finished, when it is done, make big yard. u should have just enough dil for it.
- when its done, queue up t15
- then do expansion.
- make 2 or 3 s-2, and do their special for damage boost.
this works ok as dominion ships usually drain supply faster than dil/tri so u can afford the t15s at the start.
hopefully by the time the first attack comes u should have 3 bugs and a t15. retreat the bugs the second they get attacked to keep them alive. eventually the bugs die, but hopefully u will have 2 or 3 t15 by then. and the kvorts wont hurt the t15 much.
i would like to test this to see if an aggressive player can get to u before u make t15.

Ideally you should be able to spam some Bugs until you can get to T-15, or at least a few Alpha-White carrying S-2's (for support). Bugs are slightly faster than K'Vorts which will basically make an early game battle all about micromanagement. You can kite those K'vorts easily enough with your much faster build time (dual yards preferably), cheaper unit cost, and ramming capabilities, and of course the K'Vorts can utilize cloak strikes to pin you down if you aren't careful - so keep moving. At a certain point the K'Vorts will be too numerous, which is when the T-15's should have come into play.
Teching straight to T-15 is possible at around 4 Bugs, which is roughly 5 minutes into the game. That isn't so bad if your opponent isn't hyper aggressive (which can allow you to rely on turrets a little), but it's not in the 1v1 section of the guide because it is too late for my tastes.

Of course, if your opponent is reading this thread he will simply switch and while you are busy teching up to T-15s he will be spamming K’beajQ and Topmey/K't'inga.

K'beajQ and K't'inga are countered quite nicely by Bugs and T-15

B-8 Warfrigates are a good delay on the K'vorts until those T-15s come out. All those pulses and a torpedo. Plus a special that can KO engines, what more do you need for proof?

yeah b8 isnt terrible if u dont wanna spend money on large yard for a while.
but if u are gonna make only 1 small yard u may not be able to get enough b8 out in a fast enough time to stop the kvorts.
and if u are gonna make 2 yards then u might as well make 1 of those the large yard and spam t15 anyway, as they are better at countering kvorts.

What's the cap on B-8? I know the other troop transport (upgraded Vut'pa) has a...6 cap on it, I think?
